If Trump didn’t incite insurrection on January 6th, what was he doing that day? What else do you call his actions post election culminating in his rally to violence at the Capitol, the ensuing attack and carnage and death in his name, on his behalf/at his behest, for his benefit?
It’s not like people haven’t been saying for literally years that trump’s rhetoric foments violence and he would get people killed. That he stokes violence. That he dogwhistles racists and hate groups and militias. That his lies and conspiracies are dangerous. He knew. We all did
It’s not just that trump incited an attack on the CAPITOL OF THE NATION WHILE HE WAS PRESIDENT IN ORDER TO STOP THE CERTIFICATION OF HIS LOSS AND HOLD POWER ILLEGALLY. He did so during a pandemic. Told the rioters he loved them. And never conceded, apologized or explained himself
It’s not just that Trump lied for months, actively organized a gathering of violent militias/hate groups and incited an attack on the Capitol to stop the certification of his loss. It’s that no one else would ever do that. Any other American would’ve called for calm and conceded
Trump is guilty. He tried to overthrow the government. It’s a simple case. He stood to benefit. He lied for months. Gathered violent militias and hate groups and confederates in DC. Whipped them up with violent rhetoric and sent them to the Capitol to attack. And they did-for him
i'll just add that Trump was impeached for inciting insurrection and a majority of the senate voted to convict him and none of the senators who voted to acquit is credible or put forward a coherent or compelling argument as to what motivated them to let trump walk for his treason
