I almost never get involved in twitter spats between personalities with platforms -- but I’m gonna say something about @TYT, @aaronmate, @Jimmy_Dore, and @KyleKulinski because there are several [pretty important] points here that ALL y’all keep missing: (1/12)

First, while I’m 100% with @aaronmate and @jimmy_dore in this fight, I think it’s critical that we talk about the fact that @TYT's slanderous and dangerous accusations against Aaron ***are much bigger than TYT or Aaron or Jimmy or Kyle or anyone else.*** (2/12)

This isn’t about taking sides with your “team” for the sake of sportsmanship -- this is about collectively standing AGAINST bad faith, baseless smears against ANYONE, but especially against those doing critically important work... (3/12)

...such as exposing a massive cover-up of ***fake, staged war crimes*** which have significant implications for not only for Syrians, who are currently suffering from U.S.- imposed illegal, debilitating sanctions, but for literally every country we want to control AND for…(4/12)

...the oppressed here in the U.S. Make no mistake, the @TYT smear against @aaronmate is an attempt to assassinate his character in order to discredit his work and in doing so, ultimately silencing Syrian suffering. SHAME on those of you participating in this smear &… (5/12)

...shame on those of you with a platform who either have not spoken out or only did so after being pressured. This isn’t about you & this isn’t even about the parties involved & “staying out of” something this egregious because it didn’t affect you personally is not only…(6/12)

...a privileged position to take, it also both tacitly condones and normalizes the institutionalized abuser-victim dynamic, where any response by the victim is seen as escalating the situation or, at a minimum, just as bad as the abuser, leading observers to dismiss…(7/ 12)

...the situation altogether & the victim to fend for themselves. Also, if you’re not willing to speak out against smears like this against a journalist doing extremely critical work, then ***you’d better be willing to do the work, yourselves,*** bc your silence could...(8/12)
