Julian Nagelsmann on being a fan of Chiesa: "(laughs) Yes, he's good, but also expensive. He's a great player. I know him for a long time and think he's extraordinary. He's very fast with very good dribbling and finishing, but he also has a very, very high pricetag" [BamS]
Nagelsmann on not signing any new attacking players: "We have 4, 5 very good attacking players. If they're all fit, then that's enough"
Gnabry as a right wing-back?
Nagelsmann: "It wouldn't be his favourite position. He played it a few times with me at Hoffenheim, but for me he's not the A plan there. Serge's position is rather centrally upfront, as a 10, in the half space or on the wing. He plays best there"
Nagelsmann: "It's always about the way our opponent plays. Then he (Gnabry) could be an option there. But definitely not the solution over 34 matchdays"
How many times will Bayern win the CL in the next 5 years?

Nagelsmann: "I hope often. The competition is of course very fierce, it is an extremely demanding competition. Very often the form of the day decides, so it's absolutely impossible to predict"
Nagelsmann: "I saw Hansi Flick's farewell picture, the way he stood there was impressive: black picture and just the silver and gold trophies around him. So I thought it would be nice if there would be one of mine at some point."
Nagelsmann: "Bayern's “Mia san mia” means: You have to be convinced of your own path, not to rest on what you have achieved, but to keep going. And have good self-confidence. Know that anything can be achieved. Demonstrate that you can be successful, that you want to win titles"
Nagelsmann: "One of the toughest moments as a Bayern fan was the 1999 Champions League final against Manchester United. My dad was a Gladbach fan, so it wasn't that bad for him. My brother and I, we both cried a lot back then"
Nagelsmann on being the most expensive coach in the world: "A coach doesn't just cost a transfer fee, there are also salaries, bonuses, etc. So I'm definitely not the most expensive coach Bayern have ever had. The fee may have been a bit bigger, but the rest certainly wasn't"
Nagelsmann: "I didn't say: “Bayern, if you want me - I'm worth it.” If I had been a journalist, I would have reported about it too. But the pressure would be the same for me if I had cost 500,000 euros. Because I want to win everything at FC Bayern anyway"
Nagelsmann: "When you see the players who have collected the most minutes and performed outstandingly under Hansi, then you can see that it's always good to have a spine with players who have a certain level of experience, quality and the will to win"
Nagelsmann: "Whether that's Thomas Müller, Joshua Kimmich, Manuel Neuer, Robert Lewandowski, Leon Goretzka. These are all key players, and I could name many more"
Nagelsmann on defenders: "We have a lot of top-class players there too: the two newcomers Dayot Upamecano and Tanguy Nianzou. Or Lucas Hernández, who is now unfortunately injured, but whom I think very highly of"
Nagelsmann: "I am not going to determine an axis of players that always play. But we just have players who have the drive to perform and always be outstanding"
Louis van Gaal once said Thomas Müller always plays, will it be the case for you?

Nagelsmann: "Thomas is very ambitious, with an extreme will to win. He was frustrated after the Euros. If he stays healthy, there are few coaches who would do without him."
Nagelsmann: "Müller has outstanding qualities & is one of the most difficult players to prepare for an opponent. Because you can't get a hold of him, he has an incredible sense of space. He always wants to play & give his best - why should I do without a player of this quality?"
Nagelsmann: "The players at FC Bayern don't want any special status, they want success. Of course, you have a little more conversations with the experienced players, who are also very influential in the dressing room, and listen to their opinions. It's incredibly important"
Nagelsmann: "The players have to feel comfortable with what you are doing: with the atmosphere, but also with the content of what you are coaching. Football is a game of the players who have to implement it. The players have to implement what you want on the pitch"
Is it a goal for you to coach the national team one day?

Nagelsmann: "We just got a new one now. It would be very bizarre if, after a few days in office at Bayern, I talked about wanting to be a national team coach. I am currently a club coach and very happy about it."
Nagelsmann on what he'll be wearing in his first game at Bayern: "The style of clothing should match the job you have. Now I'm with one of the biggest clubs in the world. I will probably no longer wear the colorful jackets that I might have worn at my previous clubs"
Nagelsmann: "But I will not completely change myself as a person. I'll try to dress neatly. Maybe not in the brightest colours anymore. But not deadly boring either"

Upamecano on Julian Nagelsmann: "He's a great coach, he develops both young and old players and talks to everyone. I am happy that he is here and I hope that we will win many games together"
Upamecano on his style: "I'm fast and aggressive, always giving 100 percent on the pitch, no matter what"

Rummenigge says Bayern, BVB & PSG were not invited to the Super League: "No, none of us knew about this contract. The SL was set up in a legally & financially professional way - with just one mistake: they underestimated the reaction of the rest of the football family" [BamS]
Rummenigge: "If I had found out something about it before, I would have tried with all my power to prevent the Super League, together with our friends from Dortmund and Paris, among others."
Rummenigge: "FC Bayern is not available for such an event. We all have a clear stance here: You cannot separate yourself from the football family by organizing your own event at the expense of others."

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: "It is a fact that Hansi Flick told us that he wanted to leave us after the season. We agreed that we would sit down after the game in Mainz" [BamS]
Rummenigge: "One thing has to be clear: if we are to comply with Hansi's request, all parties must work together to find a solution that FC Bayern is also satisfied with. We're talking about a coach who has achieved something historic with us & whose work we are very happy with"
When will the decision be made?

KHR: "After our game in Mainz we don't have a game for two weeks and a lot of time. But I have to say something fundamental about the whole situation, that's important to all of us: At the moment, the public is targeting Hasan Salihamidžić"

Hansi Flick: "This team has often shown its quality, a defeat like today happens. It's a pity we couldn't take the final step today. But you have to understand that the team is tired. Today we were too harmless"
Flick: "First of all, we have to pay Mainz a huge compliment. They did very well, were very compact and defended their goal brilliantly. In the first half we didn't do things the way we imagined, it wasn't a good game."
Flick: "We came in better in the second half. But the players have too many minutes in their legs. We just weren't strong enough today."

Ivan Rakitić on reports that he was offered to Bayern in 2019 but the club rejected him: "Honestly? I really didn't know anything about it. I think it's a pity that my friend Brazzo made that decision. I would have liked to play with Manu again" [@SPORT1]
Rakitic: "Jokes aside, we've talked about it once, but nothing more. To be part of FC Bayern would have certainly been a huge honor. What this club has built over the past few years is amazing. You can only congratulate the people in charge for that"
Rakitic: "Bayern are still the biggest address in Europe, even though they were knocked out of the Champions League."

Jamal Musiala on his goals against Wolfsburg: "I'm just proud and happy. I always enjoy scoring goals. I was really happy that I scored two in one game. It was just a special moment" [fcb]
Musiala on his header: "After training I worked on my headers with Tiago Dantas. The others always make fun of my headers because it's not my strength. So I just did it to improve a bit. The Tiger (Hermann Gerland) was really happy and we just laughed and made a few jokes."
Musiala on his dribbling: "I've been practicing the movements since I was very young, in the garden or on the street. Now I feel very comfortable with it & know when and how to use it. I've already optimized it and keep working on it so that I feel even more comfortable with it"
