[#asanoya #hqsummerhorror] Day 2: forgotten, unknown of another world, found footage

tw // death, blood, violence

this turned out way longer than i thought!!

--

If there was one thing Noya lived for, it was adventure.
He loved the thrill as the air rushed out his lung when he went cliff diving, and the beauty of multicolored tropical fish when he swam meters beneath the surface.

Nothing beat the serenity he felt when shimmers of light surrounded him, like they were from the heavens above.
No, in fact, his love for exploring the ocean became so strong, he'd made it his job.

Live on the submarine was everything he'd wished for. The crew was an eccentric bunch of people, an environment Noya thrived in.

--
The youngest, a man with similar hair to him named Koganegawa. He'd smiled upon meeting Noya, welcoming him with a giant hug. His smile was infectious, everyone on the crew had a soft spot for him.
Then there was Mattsukawa, the tallest, probably strongest of them all. He was cryptic, but hilarious, filling any silence with dry humor and shady comments. Still, Noya believed he hid the secrets to the universe in his caterpillar brows.
The last of the main crew was a man with sharp smiles and teasing eyes. His signature tongue piercing glinted under the low lights of the submarine, jesting and jeering-- all in good fun.

Terushima was an ass first, but quickly became a trusted crewmate.

--
Besides the crew, Noya loved waking up everyday to see the expanse of blue waters surrounding him. Many people would feel anxious, stuck in a metal box far away from oxygen.

Noya felt free, powerful, like nothing could stop him. He'd explored the depths of the sea,
/what could ever scare him after that?/

He was able to explore deeper than ever before.

Only one thing irritated him about the job. The fact that he had to stay underwater for weeks, possibly months, with no contact to the outside world.

No contact with Asahi.
Asahi tried to reassure him multiple times that it was okay, he was fine. Afterall, Noya got at least a month off between shifts, sometimes even longer, where he could spend all his freetime spoiling his lover.

Yet, like clockwork, whenever they had to seperate
Asahi held back tears, sick with anxiety and what ifs.

What if they got lost?

What if there was a malfunction?

What if they were attacked?

What if Noya drowned to his death, all alone in the middle of the sea?

What if, what if, what if what if what if what if?
"Asahi, you giant baby. I'll be okay, I'm always okay," he would reassure, hugging the others head to his chest. His fingers would comb through the other's long hair comfortingly.

Asahi would just sniffle in response, pulling him closer by the waist.
They'd stay that way for a while until Asahi looked up, watery eyes and wobbly smile, "I believe in you, Noya."

And they'd part until the next time, Asahi driving home to an empty apartment.
For a while, Noya kept his promise to Asahi. He'd rush into his arms, peppering kisses over wet cheeks after their time apart, and everything would be okay.

Over and over, he'd return home safe, quelling Asahi's anxiety

Until one day, he couldn't.
It started as a normal day. The main crew were having breakfast together, huddled around the table and throwing down playing cards.

Ironically, they were playing go fish.

Kogane currently had his face in his hands, yelling at falling for Mattsun's bluff for the 50th time.
Terushima leaned back in his chair, eyes dancing with amusement. Whenever Kogane let his guard down, he peaked over, mouthing his cards to Mattsun across from them.

Noya just laughed his ass off at how the poor man was being played by others, wheezing when Kogane sullenly
plucked more cards from the stack.

All of them were unsuspecting of what was to come.

Suddenly they were suspended in pitch black. There was no light this deep in the sea, they'd been tasked to try to identify some rare deep sea species.

The silence was deafening.
Then the harsh screech of the alarms pushed them into action. Red lights flashed harshly above them.

"EMERGENCY, Please commence evacuation as quickly and calmly as possible. Locate the nearest lock, equip your breathing devices, equip your emergency pack and exit. EMERGENCY-"
The intercom played on a loop. Cards abandoned, the four quickly made their way to the lock, an escape door, only to stop dead in their tracks.

In the hallway before them, a dark substance slowly seeped towards them, staining the floor in it's wake.

They all hesitated,
confusion taking over. Except for Mattsun. He stepped forward, crouching down to put a finger in the substance.

He turned back with his brows drawn, a grimace on his face. "It's blood," he confirmed what none of them wanted to hear.

"Blood...? But- how?" Kogane squeaked.
Terushima's face was uncharacteristically serious. He laid a hand on the youngest's shoulder. "Don't panic, Kogane."

Noya thought that was easier said than done. "Just what the fuck is this emergency? There's no water filling the sub." he observed.
Not even the sound of water trickling could be heard.

The entire submarine was dead quiet.

"He's right," Terushima wavered. "I can't even hear the secondary crew. The pilot didn't say anything over the comms either."

Mattsun frowned, still watching the blood.
"I'll go check it out, you guys stay here." he said firmly, disappearing behind the corner.

Noya heard Kogane's breathing start to pick up. "What if there's a- a killer?!" he shot off multiple horrible scenarios of what could be. Terushima worked on calming him while Noya's own
mind reeled. Kogane's panic made him think of Asahi. He couldn't leave him alone.

They had to make it off this submarine because Noya /had/ to make it home to his Asahi.

He scrambled back to where they were playing cards, swiping up in phone from the pile of abandoned cards.
Just to jump up, heart pounding with fear as they heard a series of thumps coming closer to them. A soft croaking sound caught his attention as he joined the others, hyper focused on the hallway.

"Mattsun!" Kogane cried with joy, as the other's silhouette appeared slightly
behind the corner. Mattsun's silhouette didn't move for a moment. Noya felt the hair on his arms stand on end, a shiver running through his spine.

Something was wrong. Really wrong.

"...Mattsun?" Terushima shifted, pushing Kogane behind him.

They were met with more croaking.
Noya's body seized in horror as Mattsun stepped into the light. He heard Kogane's screech of horror from behind him.

There was a giant fucking hole in the middle of his body. Blood poured out of his mouth as he opened and closed it like a fish out of water, trying to form words.
"..id....h-h- hiiiii. /hide/-" He suddenly dropped, a pleading look in his eyes as he reached out. "Ma...kki...t-tell..im."

A scream tore its way from Noya's throat as something wrapped around Mattsuns leg and dragged him back into the darkness.
His feet stayed planted as hands- (NO NO NO! Hands are NOT supposed to look like that!) wrapped around the wall.

Terushima was his saving grace, a bruising grip on both Noya and Kogane as he hauled them to the other side of the room, out the opposite door.

Away from the escape.
"Kogane SHUT UP!" Terushima hissed, dragging them through seemingly endless pathways. Kogane slapped a hand over his mouth, attempting to hold in just how terrified he was.

Noya couldn't even think. His mind was a constant garble of Asahi, Asahi Asahi-
The submarine could only stretch out so long, soon they'd have nowhere to go.

Terushima threw into a room. A quick look around showed it was a storage room of sorts. There were lockers and huge piles of boxes. Noya watched numbly as Terushima pressed a knife into his hand.
"Take these. Kogane, Noya and I are going to hide in the lockers. They're too small for you, you have to hide behind the pile of boxes over there." he whispered quickly.

"What! No, please, I don't want to be alone-" Noya pressed a hand firmly against his mouth.
"Kogane," he smiled. "We will be okay. You just need to listen to Teru and stay quiet, okay? We're going to help you out of this."

Guilt flooded him as Kogane looked at him with trusting eyes. With a nod, they all moved to their hiding spots, Noya looking through the slits
in the locker.

It was silent at first, for a moment Noya allowed himself to believe the monster gave up.

Until he heard the quick breaths from across the room.

'Oh no. Kogane, please,' he thought, knowing it was the beginnings of panic.
Thud.

Thud.

Thudthudthudthud-

Noya clasped his hands together to stop any noises from leaving his mouth as creature, a monster, came burst the door off it's hinges.

It's grotesque, alien-like body ran for the boxes, faster than he could even blink.
Kogane screamed and terror and Noya knew that was the end. He shut his eyes closed, not wanting to see the crewmate he grew to care for die in front of him. The screaming cut off, but the violence didn't.

With a pained cry, Terushima burst out of his locker, charging.
"NOYA! RUN!" and in that moment Noya didn't think he'd ever be indebted to anyone like he was to the man. Terushima acted on what they'd both thought, that there was no way they'd survive with the /thing/ in the same room.

Noya bolted out of his locker, ready to help.
But Terushima pushed him away, a clear message in his eyes. Noya watched as the others knife practically bounced off the creature, and instead he was impaled by long claws.

Noya ran and didn't look back. He ran and ran, willing his body to move as fast as possible.
He made it to a lock, only to see that all of the breathing devices were destroyed. He sobbed in desperation. "I'm so sorry Asahi," he cried as he worked on barricading himself in the room.
With shaking hands he remembered he'd grabbed his phone. He tried to type a message but his hands trembled too much, so he opened the camera. With a shaky breath, he pressed record, he didn't know how much longer he had.
"Asahi, my love," he smiled at the camera, wishing he didn’t have tears staining his face. "I'm so sorry. I never meant to break our promise. It was supposed to be you and me forever, you know?" he cut himself off with a wet chuckle.
"I- I don't have long. I want you, no. I need you to know how much I love you Asahi. No matter what, in some way I'm always going to be by your side. Maybe, maybe you'll find me." he smiled sadly.

"Baby, I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. There's a ring in a box in
my closet. You need to know that I always planned spend my life with you. I love you, so much. Don't- don't be a big baby at my funeral. Make sure there's a piñata or something fun." He stared at the phone lovingly, pulling up a picture of Asahi's face.
Then, with a deep breath. "To whoever finds this, my name is Nishinoya Yuu. I live at xxxx in Tokyo, with my love Asahi. His number is xxxxxxx. I am apart of the Deep Water's crew studying marine life, on submarine Oceana 7884. My crew... they're dead. We were attacked by
/monsters/, non-human, non-marine life entities that slaughtered everyone. Please, tell my boyfriend, my husband, that I love him." There was a loud banging on the door.

"Goodbye, Asahi." he smiled one last time.

Then with practiced eased, he secured his phone in a waterproof
pack, opened the lock, and threw his phone in the ocean, shutting the lock before too much water came in.

He watched in a nearby window as the phone floated to the top of the ocean. He prayed someone would find it.
Then he faced the door that was denting with the creatures effort, and closed his eyes.

When the door screeched open, he smiled, picturing Asahi.

[#kagehina #hqsummerhorror] Day 1: hunted, lost in the woods, werewolf

tw // violence, gore, blood, death

--

Hinata often found himself lost in the woods, a bright red hood adorning him.
He skipped around the woods incessantly, trying to find the cabin that’s eluded him many so many times. Distantly aware of the whispers of the woods.

People who braved the journey never come back. There was a monster said to be lurking around on nights of the full moon.
Howls filled the chilly nights in the nearby village, moonlight shining innocently above. Fog would cover every inch of the lush forest, thick and mysterious, beckoning any poor soul to explore it.

Elders would shuffle their young inside, locking them away for the night.
