/6 The goal of @EuclidiaEurope is to carry the voice of European based companies that develop original cloud technologies. Some of them have been in this business for 17 years or more. @opennebula, which is not (yet?) a member, is one of many examples of those pioneer companies.
/6 @EuclidiaEurope is not a software project or a FLOSS foundation. If one is looking for a place to contribute code to, there are many foundations serving that purpose in EU (ex. OW2) or outside EU. Some @EuclidiaEurope members are already part of them.
/6 @EuclidiaEurope is not intending to develop yet another federation service. IMHO, this has already existed for a decade. If one is looking for a new federation service, Gaia-X is one possibility among others. Some members of @EuclidiaEurope are already contributing to it.
/6 @EuclidiaEurope does not intend to define a standard or push a single technology against others. We acknowledge the diversity of competing approaches, including among our members, and view it as a strength. We accept both FLOSS and non-FLOSS, centralised and distributed, etc.
/6 @EuclidiaEurope has a practical approach: most if not all cloud technologies are already provided by existing European based companies with an average of 3 to 5 solutions per need. A lot could be achieved by simply knowing, using and combining them.
/6 This is why our first goal is to list all success stories of European based companies that create original cloud software / hardware. Contact us: contact@euclidia.eu either to tell us about your success story or join us. 50 stories will be published in the press.
