#ThalapathyVijay has been targeted unfairly once again. He paid Life Time Tax & Import Duty for his Rolls Royce car in 2012. After paying all the taxes, he visited RTO to register his car, where he was asked to get a certificate from the IT commissioner. #WeSupportThalapathyVijay
When Thalapathy visited the IT department, he was told that he didn't have to pay Entry Tax. But the assistant commissioner for the Chennai circle told him that Entry Tax was required.
Since #Vijay was confused, he moved the Madras High Court to have clarity and filed a writ petition challenging Entry Tax.
The case was moved to the pending list by the court for NINE YEARS. It's not Vijay who is the reason for the nine years delay.
This case came up for hearing today. The petitioner claimed "extraordinary Entry tax is being imposed on his imported vehicle" so he sought exemption.
You either give exemption or not. What's the need to drag Vijay's profession into the verdict and do moral policing?
Did Vijay evade tax? NO! If he wanted to evade, he would have evaded other taxes which he paid like road tax and import duty too! He didn't evade any tax!
Using words like "tax evasion", "anti-national habit" is completely unnecessary. Because he did not evade tax even once.
IT raids happened on the properties and premises of Vijay in 2015 and 2020. If he evaded tax fault, IT officials would have found it. But he got a clean chit both times. He pays his taxes without fail. Vijay can buy any amount of car he wants. He works hard, earns, buys cars.
A bit of history about Justice SM Subramaniam. This gentleman wrote a letter to the former Chief Justice A P Sahi, which called for the initiation of criminal contempt against Suryia over his remarks on the conduct of the NEET amid COVID-19. barandbench.com/news/surya-on-…
He made the letter public for his publicity. Advocate CR Jaya Sukin filed a plea in the Supreme Court for the removal of this gentleman! deccanherald.com/national/plea-…
Back to the topic, it's not nice to get personal when giving verdicts especially when the individual has not committed any mistake.
To media:
Be responsible for what you're reporting. Report only the truth!
Thalapathy has TRUTH on his side. I stand by him, AS ALWAYS.
