/x Those arguing against vaccine passports, are not pushing for the right to refuse the vaccine... no one is talking about mandating them. They are pushing for the right to refuse the vaccine without consequences.
/x We already have vaccine passports for yellow fever. Yes you can refuse that vaccine but than you cannot fly between certain pairs of countries.
/x In med school, sure you could refuse the hep B vaccine, but the school would than tell you to find another profession.
x If you are an HIV +ve emerg physician and do not take the highly active antiretroviral meds and have a undetectable viral load you cannot work. Doesn't mater if you are "allergic". Still your choice but choices have consequences.
/x Right now if you as a Canadian want to get into Europe you need to be double vaccinated. Sure you can refuse but with that refusal comes the inability to go to Europe.
/x In my own family my dad was hesitant to get the vaccine. He did not think he needed it. Sister-in-law said that without the vaccine he does not get to see her kids. Yah mom decides. Grandpa is now vaccinated.
/x Vaccine passports are not materially different than many others we have. They are not a slippery slop to anywhere. Like seriously everyone has heard of "no shirt, no shoes, no service".
/x For those who want near zero impositions from the society around them, you can choose to move and remain in a location with no one else. Being in society comes with benefits but also responsibilities.
