I visited #Cuba in 2017, saw a large part of the country and talked to the people there myself. They have healthcare, housing, and education as guaranteed human rights! (thread)
There is no homelessness, nor is there student or medical debt in Cuba. All this despite years of sabotage and terrorist plots planned by the United States.
It’s only the right-wing Cubans in the US who fled justice after the revolution that say it’s a dictatorship and make up terrible stories about the country. It’s easy to debunk their lies!
Context matters. If the socialist revolution took away their vast wealth and estates, ended their ability to exploit others and took away their class status, of course they won’t support the new socialist government.
I stand with the people of Cuba in defending their socialist project! Don’t be fooled by the phony news stories being put out by the corporate press right now, or your friend of a friend who immigrated here from Cuba right after the revolution.
The people living in Cuba support their government overwhelmingly.
Ask me anything about Cuba! I want to bridge the gap of misunderstanding for anyone who is unsure about this issue or where they should stand!
Enough with the misinformation. Once you understand Cuba’s history and the external pressure they overcame and continue to overcome, I believe you will also join the call to end the blockade and stand against all US intervention in Cuba! 🇨🇺❤️ #NoMasBloqueo#HandsOffCuba
