"The upper level wind forecast is favorable for launch."
Powers highlights Blue Origin's work with the FAA throughout the New Shepard development program:

"We've collaborated with them very closely ... the whole commercial space team at the FAA has been with us through every step of this program."
Powers: "There are no designated public viewing areas for our flights."

The Texas Department of Transportation will close part of the local highway "during the hours around" Blue Origin's first crewed launch.
Powers: "The vast majority of people who are supporting our launch operations," both Blue Origin employees and contractors "are vaccinated at this point."
Jaeger: "No engineering or technical issues, looking forward to a great L-0 day."
.@arianecornell: "From a sales perspective, we are particularly excited because we will be flying our first paying customer on New Shepard:" Oliver Daemen.
@arianecornell Cornell: "Since the auction that we held on June 12, I have had the pleasure of chatting with many of our future customers who have signed for the subsequent flights."

"We intend to have two more flights this year."
@arianecornell Cornell: Blue Origin has "already built a robust pipeline of customers that are interested" in future New Shepard flights.
@arianecornell Smith: This New Shepard rocket booster and capsule have flown twice, which was part of Blue Origin's "certification plan" in preparation for crewed flights.
@arianecornell Smith: Blue Origin hopes to launch the second crewed New Shepard flight in September or October.

"In China we're selling to commercial players in the market ... so we don't see any concerns." cnbc.com/2021/07/06/spa…

@ALPAPilots Joe DePete

Thread:
@FAANews @USGAO @ulalaunch @torybruno @SpaceFlorida @ALPAPilots @virgingalactic .@RepGarretGraves opens by noting that in 2011, the FAA's spaceflight office (AST) licensed "only one single commercial space launch" but "now routinely licenses a launch a week or more," with only a marginal increase in staffing.
@FAANews @USGAO @ulalaunch @torybruno @SpaceFlorida @ALPAPilots @virgingalactic @RepGarretGraves .@RepPeterDeFazio in opening remarks says he is "not in favor of telling people in America" traveling via commercial air that a flight was delayed "because some millionaire or billionaire is going to experience 15 minutes of weightlessness."

Asked about NASA's HLS program, Admin. Nelson says "competition is good, it brings the best cost and the most efficient route" but NASA only got $850M of its $3.4B request last year.

He reveals Dynetics bid $8.5B, vs. Blue Origin's $6B and SpaceX's $3B. appropriations.senate.gov/hearings/revie…
Nelson: "Going forward, we're going to have, one way or another, competition for a lot of landings on the moon over the next decade and a half."
Sen. Shaheen presses him, asking whether NASA would come back and request additional funding for HLS competition if the GAO throws out SpaceX's win.

Nelson: "No, because I'm requesting that right now, and suggesting that a way to do that is the jobs bill."
