PSA for lovers of the #LatinMass: the 1950s are gone & never coming back.

PSA for lovers of Mass in English: the 1970s are over & never coming back.

Now, can we please stop using the Sacred #Liturgy as a battering ram to beat fellow Catholics into submission?
Let the words of the Mass be noble, reverent & inspiring--in whatever language.

Let the priest officiate with both awe & joy.

Let the people participate with full voice & attention.

Let each #Eucharist fill us with resolve to make the world a holier place by being holy.
Let the Mass be what we say it is: a communion
with #Christ
with the #Pope
with Catholics everywhere
past, present & future.
And what is holiness but to recognize God in creation, other people & in oneself.

To reflect back to others the presence of God we see in them.

To model humility & forgiveness,
justice & mercy
goodness & truth

And the courage to call out bigotry, hatred, duplicity & greed.

The Second Coming
By Yeats

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight:
somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
