"Digital strategies also attract deep-pocketed tech sponsors: Peel has been able to lure companies such as Google and Bloomberg as partners to help meet the Serpentine’s annual £9.5m target."
"It was Michael Bloomberg who, in 2015, recruited Peel to the Serpentine board, which he chairs, seeing in her the ideal mix of deal-maker and disruptor. The two had met in Hong Kong, where Peel lived for seven years with her husband, Stephen..."
"There, Peel initiated provocative debates as a cofounder of Intelligence Squared Asia (“The Art World Is a Boys’ Club” was one) and became the co-chair of one of Hong Kong’s most important contemporary art spaces, Para Site."
"At McGill University, where Peel studied Russian literature and humanities, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was a classmate (“I can still picture him in his Timberland boots”), and Peel produced fashion drag balls to benefit AIDS research."
"She went on to study at the London School of Economics and Political Science before landing at Goldman Sachs, where she worked primarily with Israeli tech companies."
Stephen Peel resigned from the board of Global Witness after the deal was announced because of the human rights group’s concerns over the “potential for the abuse of surveillance technology”.
“Stephen Peel has served on our Board since Dec 2015. Given this technology exists I would prefer it is run by someone, such as Mr Peel, who is committed to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
“As an organisation we have concerns about the potential for the abuse of surveillance technology. The misuse of this kind of technology can have a damaging effect on the work of NGOs and individuals and in the hands of repressive regimes, it can be used to deadly effect."
Peel said: "The work conducted by Global Witness is critical in holding governments, companies and individuals to account and protecting the public from corrupt behaviour. The core principles of Global Witness are close to my fundamental beliefs, and while I am stepping down...
from my role, I will continue to support the fight for justice. I thank all of the team at Global Witness for what we have achieved together over the past three years. Looking forward, I am committed to ensuring NSO adheres to the highest governance practices.”

Approximately 2008 or 2009, Manafort worked on a project for Deripaska in Guinea where Deripaska had a large interest in bauxite mining and alumina refinery
facilities.
FBI FD-302, Gates 10/29/2018:

Boyarkin managed the project for Deripaska. Gates recalled meeting with Boyarkin, Kilimnik, and Manafort about the project.
Boyarkin had intel regarding politicians in Guinea and contacts within the Guinean government.
Peter R. de Vries was shot in the head Tuesday in broad daylight near one of Amsterdam’s busiest plazas just minutes after he left a TV studio. He remains in critical condition, according to Dutch law enforcement.
De Vries had been acting as a confidant and counsel to Nabil B, star witness against alleged drug kingpin, Ridouan Taghi. The trial has already seen its fair share of bloodshed: Nabil’s brother and lawyer were assassinated in 2018 and 2019.
Michael Louis Connell (30 Nov 1963 – 19 Dec 2008) Republican consultant subpoenaed regarding alleged tampering with the 2004 U.S. election and a case involving 1000's of missing emails re: the political firing of U.S. Attorneys. Connell was killed in a plane crash
Federal investigators are looking into a small plane crash in Ohio which claimed the life of its pilot, a Republican media consultant who was instrumental in the presidential and gubernatorial campaigns of three members of the Bush Family.
Following the fatal accident, CBS Affiliate WOIO reported that Connell, who had recently been subpoenaed to testify in relation to a lawsuit alleging vote rigging in the 2004 Ohio election, was warned at least twice about flying his plane because his plane might be sabotaged.
