5 letter variations, is based on nothing more than where one decides to 'parse*' or cut the 'clip' of the DNA strand.
DNA is a long polymer made from repeating units called nucleotides, each of which is usually symbolized by a single letter:
Either A, T, C, or G.

The 73 patents are DNA strands which are called "Sequence I.D. numbers," tents are DNA strands which are called "Sequence I.D. numbers," and specifically they, the patents, state the organism is an "ARTIFICIAL" sequence.

That is, it is NOT a sequence that has a rule base in nature. Or in other words doesn't exist outside a computer simulation.
Many of the sequences are contiguous, just leading on from the one before, but also overlapping in others where it is merely caprice that determines

whether something is or is not part of an open reading frame or part of a particular nucleotide sequence.

There is no universal Gold Standard for identifying CV19 which is just one of hundreds of Corona type viruses.

which is the SARS1 virus in violation of sec 35, US code 101 (I hope I got that bit right) after it was rejected TWICE by the patent office for the reason above. They paid to have the patent details hidden. Made 'private'. Why?
