Amir Chand of Sanskar Bharti, an RSS outfit, stated, “In collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, we are debating the removal of portions from the Manusmriti which are anti-Dalit and anti-women and often quoted in arguments against Hindu scriptures.”

Balmukund Pandey, the head of Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana, another RSS outfit, announced a plan for modifying the Ramayana to weed out verses that are not in sync with the ideal image of Ram.

While other religiopolitical movements such as political Islam, either keep religion superior or at par with politics, RSS/BJP Hindutva make religion inferior to politics. To cater to "subaltern sensibilities" they distort Hinduism as they like.
Therefore, the real 'other' of Hindutva is not the left/secular/minorities. It is the Dharmacharyas and their devotees, basically the conservatives of Hindu dharma who do not like this distortion of Hinduism according political convenience.
This is the reason why RSS Hindutva disregards and marginalizes the conservative Acharyas, whose prominence denies them the exclusive claim to the religious sphere. No wonder sanghis go after strongly at conservative Hindus instead of Vidharmis and Mlecchas.

BRA never actually claimed authorship of the Constitution. He quite frankly admits, most of it is copied with small modifications. He has just been pushed down our throats in order to propagate his poisonous ideas regarding Hinduism, to fracture our society.
It was quite well-known to all the leaders of the time that most of the constitution was based on the Government of India Act, 1935, prepared by British to rule India. In fact, the BRA would have felt vindicated about the continuation of the same. But a sad-fate for Hindus.
A considerable four-fifths of the Constitution was from the 1935 Act. No doubt, the state institutions remain in a colonial hangover in a number of aspects.

The draft constitution was getting formulated in the constituent assembly during July-Nov 1946, and the merger of states was still in progress. During in this time, Pandit Nehru had remarked that it was the individual state's decision whether to continue with monarchy or not.
However, it was tumultuous times for the country with partition and creation Pakistan. The constituent assembly had to accommodate for these changes. The major influence of this was, the continuation of the influence of the Government of India Act, 1935.
Initially, it was contemplated that princely states could be separate Constitutions. But due to the monumental work by Sardar Patel and agreement of the Hindu Rajas in acceding to united India, amendments were proposed to make princely states at part with other British Provinces.

The task of the Drafting Committee, which BRA was the Chairman of, was primarily a "secretarial one" to check if the new draft incorporated and tallied with the decisions of the constituent assembly!
The Constitution was the result of decades of work of several Hindu leaders who were working to create an administrative system for India working within the British government of India. And the process had started decades before the constituent assembly was formed.
Sir Benegal Narsing Rau, a British civil servant who was the constitutional advisor to the constituent assembly, played a pivotal role in the creation of constitution. He prepared voluminous document - Constitutional Precedents, from virtually all major countries' constitutions.

In one instance in the Parliament, BRA says he shall be the first person to burn the Constitution, suggesting perhaps his role in the making of the Constitution.
In another occasion in the parliament, BRA says "with a certain amount of pride" that "Constitution is a wonderful document"! What explains this abrupt changes in his opinion? Doesn't it show a man who switches positions according to his convenience and whims?
Earlier, BRA had given his arguments why we do not need any Constituent Assembly in the first place. This is what he said in the All India Scheduled Class Federation in Bombay on 6 May, 1945, regarding the unnecessity of a new Constitution:

BRA raises issue of temple entry, and when Hindus agree to remove such restrictions, he cries about possibility of removal of reservations! Basically, he doesn't want Untouchables to blend in the Hindu society. He wanted continuous extraction of benefits while blackmailing Hindus
And all the problems plaguing "untouchables" had only one solution according to BRA: RESERVATIONS!
Shri. Arun Shourie makes some really insightful analysis of BRA's legacy on Indian society. Especially - "Mediocrity as the norm, repudiation of standards themselves as elitist, civility itself as a camouflage of the privileged, vulgarity as right, intimidation as argument"!

While nationalist leaders of the Freedom Struggle were working for revival of the ancient perennial Hindu civilization, BRA did not even consider India to be a nation. Particularly, "Untouchables" were a separate element, just like Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, etc.
According to BRA, at best, the Scheduled Castes belonged a different religion, somewhat similar to Hinduism. He also couldn't help but acknowledge that the same deities are worshipped by all Hindus, including Untouchables.
This outright traitor of the nation, who spewed such venom on Hinduism, has been conferred the award of Bharat Ratna, and praised as a national leader, in a Hindu majority country! All his arguments were a case of making arguments to defend one's thesis, not to stick to reality.
