It is fair to say that a) this event marks the onset of the ravages of advanced climate breakdown, and that b) what we have created as a species is as good as it gets. The ravages will destroy infrastructure far, far faster than we can repair / replace...2

Also as the intensity increases, & it will exponentially, the systems required to repair/replace will be destroyed leading to sudden collapses in supply chains with effects similar to biological co-extinctions. Right now, today, we are either ready - or not.

This is the one thread that as a climate disaster scientist I had hoped never to ever have to write. I became aware of climate change in the 1970s & studied forecasting in the 1980s. Since 1995 I have worked on solutions to the climate crisis. Now it's here.

There can be NO doubt about the impact of social breakdown due to climate collapse when, even when the system is operating at its best, homeless women & sex workers are treated as described in this blog post.
