It's not just blizzard. It's your studio, too. It's the jokes you tolerate. It's the team that excluded the one woman on it from the team lunch. It's the guy you look up to and respect flipping a switch and becoming a predator when you're not there.
It's the guy who comes in every day and talks about how hot his wife is. It's the guy who browses tinder at work. It's the guy who says he won't save for his daughters college because college is useless for women. And it's also the silence around these behaviors.
Would you actually speak up and do something? You tell yourself you will, but almost none of you do it. You don't call out your buddies. This is a problem with gamedev culture. It's not just the behavior, it's the tolerance of the behavior.
I'm gonna give you a tool for your toolbox; you're at work and someone on your team makes an inappropriate joke. You can tell them, quietly, "hey, just so you know, we don't make jokes like that here." Simple, direct, to the point.
Sexual harassment kills you, body mind and spirit. When you're going through it you can't fight it yourself. Victims need backup.
