𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝟐 𝐀𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐲𝐚𝐬 (𝐒𝐮𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐝𝐬) ☀🔱

In the Bhagavata Purana, the names of 12 Adityas are given as:

Vishnu (The head of all the Adityas)
Aryaman
Indra
Tvashtha
Varuna
Dhata
Bhaga
Parjanya
Vivasvan
Amshuman
Mitra
Pusha

Each Aditya rules a month in the year.✨

1) 𝐃𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐚
Dhata means creator. He creates living beings and is referred as the lord of the world. He blesses us with health & wealth.

Ruling Month: March-April
Solar Month: Madhu
Lunar Month: Chaitra

2) 𝐀𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧
Aryaman is referred as the 'Guard of the sacred laws' hence is associated with nobility, honor and rules of the society.

Ruling Month: April–May
Solar Month: Madhava
Lunar Month: Vaishakha

3) 𝐌𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐚
Mitra is the god of friendship and oaths. Also known as the light of the morning sun
As Mitra Surya is in the moon and oceans.

Ruling Month: May–June
Solar Month: Shukra
Lunar Month: Jyeshtha

4) 𝐕𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐚
Varuna is the ruler of the water, oceans & the sky and upholder of the cosmic laws.

Ruling Month: June–July
Solar Month: Suchi
Lunar Month: Ashadha

5) 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚
He is the king of the gods.
As Indra Surya destroys his enemies.

Ruling Month: July–August
Solar Month: Nabhas
Lunar Month: Shravana

6) 𝐕𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐯𝐚𝐧
It is the name of the present predominating deity of sun.
As Vivasvan Surya is in the fire and helps cook food.

Ruling Month: Aug–Sept
Solar Month: Nabhasya
Lunar Month: Bhadrapada

7) 𝐓𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐭𝐡𝐚
He is the vedic artisan god, skillful craftsman
As Tvashtha Surya lives in the trees and herbs.

Ruling Month: Sept–Oct
Solar Month: Isha
Lunar Month: Ashvina

8) 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐧𝐮
As Vishnu Surya destroys the enemies of the gods.

Ruling Month: Oct–Nov
Solar Month: Urja
Lunar Month: Karttika

9) 𝐀𝐦𝐬𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧
As Amshuman Surya is in the form of wind.

Ruling Month: Nov–Dec
Solar Month: Sahas
Lunar Month: Margasirsha

10) 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐠𝐚
Bhaga is the deity of wealth, money & abundance.
As Bhaga Surya is the body of all the living beings.

Ruling Month: Dec–Jan
Solar Month: Sahasya
Lunar Month: Pushya

11) 𝐏𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐚
Pusha is god of meeting and is responsible for marriages, journeys & feeding of cattles
As Pusha Surya makes the food grains grow.

Ruling Month: Jan–Feb
Solar Month: Tapas
Lunar Month: Magha

12) 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐚
Parjanya is deity of rain, thunder & lightning, the one who fertilizes earth.

Ruling Month: Feb–March
Solar Month: Tapasya
Lunar Month: Phalguna
