Financial Support
All students studying for a Ph.D. in Basic Sciences receive a nationally competitive research assistantship of $35,000 per year throughout the course of their Ph.D. studies.
The Division of Basic Science provides this support during the first year of graduate school. This allows students to choose freely among the graduate programs and their participating faculty mentors. In subsequent years, students receive a research
assistantship paid from research grants awarded to their dissertation mentors or from one of the institutional NIH training grants associated with various areas of research training. Students are also encouraged to apply for external fellowship opportunities.
While I proceed on vacation after a tiring year with COVID restrictions, these videos would help you in writing your own academic CV.
1. 8 CV MISTAKES YOU NEED TO AVOID
2. HOW TO WRITE AN ACADEMIC CV FOR GRADUATE SCHOOL, POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW AND FACULTY POSITIONS
3. FREE CV SAMPLE AND COLD EMAIL TEMPLATE
You can download a copy of my academic CV via the description section of the 3rd link.
Kindly share the videos with friends, subscribe to Scholarship Cafe YouTube Channel youtube.com/c/ScholarshipC… and drop your questions via info@olumuyiwaigbalajobi.com
I receive an average of 30 emails daily via my website and Linkedin account.
Most of the questions are around scholarships and migration.
Some even pasted their SOP for me to review. Unfortunately, I do not review SOP for now.
There is no way I can link you with Professors in Economics, Biochemistry and microbiology because it doesn't work that way. That is why I always write and talk about cold email and DIY (Do It Yourself)
Just a reminder that I do not run a consultancy service, so I usually find it odd when people request I reach out to them via Whatsapp. I will be willing to meet you at halfway if you are intentional and determined in this journey.
Graduate school programs typically require two or three references as part of your application package. Some course-based professional programs will require one academic reference and one professional reference.
Each program sets its own criteria for reference letters, so be sure to check its requirements.
It is important to identify these potential references at least one month in advance of applying to graduate programs.
Types of referees
Academic references should be permanent professors on the university’s faculty.
Professional references are individuals you worked with (such as a former employer) who can write positively on your relevant work experience.
PhD positions, Department of Computer Science, Texas Tech University
I am looking for highly motivated PhD students (2 open PhD positions) who are interested in improving the system performance of IoT network communication and drone control.
Prospective PhD students, with strong programming skills (e.g., Python, C++, and MATLAB) and thoeretical background (e.g., optimization thoery, robotics, and machine learning), are prefered.
Experience with writing software or modifying hardware for robotic platforms will be viewed as a plus.
As part of your online application, you must upload a statement of purpose. The statement should be one to two pages and single spaced.
It should briefly discuss
your purposes and objectives in pursuing graduate study;
