This interview is clarifying, and a little infuriating. It's the best explanation I've seen for why the public health messaging has seemed so flummoxed. statnews.com/2021/07/23/how…
On putting the masks back on indoors
For people who have been vaccinated, probably the most important question right now is whether and how likely it is that a breakthrough infection they contract could spread to someone in their life who hasn't been vaccinated, like a young child or grandchild...
It'd be nice if US public health authorities were tracking the data that would enable them to provide a quantitative answer to that question.

I consider myself something of a connoisseur of pre-conference call hold music, and the LA court that will hold Barrack’s bail hearing today has the worst I’ve ever encountered.
It loops abruptly maybe every twenty-five seconds as though something is going to happen and then after five minutes dumps you off the line and makes you dial back in. Abusive.
EDNY has now given me the right info. Sigh. Joining in the middle of things- They’re reading out a set of detailed release conditions for Barrack’s codependent Grimes, which EDNY says it has agreed to and the court is approving. We’ll see if Barrack gets the same deal.
“Thomas Barrack, who served as chairman of the 2017 inaugural fund for then-President Donald Trump, has been arrested on federal charges, several law enforcement officials told NBC News on Tuesday.” cnbc.com/2021/07/20/tho…
Is that all the Trump finance chairmen, then?

Again, you’ve probably heard Ron Johnson or Ted Cruz say that there weren’t guns among January 6th rioters, but that claim is clearly false. Most people there were not stopped and searched, and when someone is put under the spotlight it often becomes evident he was carrying.
