$STRONG Q: All gold and platinum should be guaranteed than the lottery should be within the bronze imo. (Lottery for $DVPN Nodes)
A: @WithoutTheRope That’s likely to happen.
$STRONG: @WithoutTheRope Since there is a low percentage of gold sold so far. Interesting, our data analytics show that 92.5% of Platinum that have been sold are staked in the protocol.
$STRONG Q: And does it matter if the nft is staked or unstaked?
Because when I stake my nft, the website obviously says I have none in my wallet.
A: @WithoutTheRope The analysis shows if you are staked or not. We have analytics that show both.
$STRONG Q: whats the roi on the new nodes
A: @WithoutTheRope You mean Sentinel? Same as it is for Ethereum 1.0.
$STRONG Q: Will there will be a way to stake or create a node that eventually rewards an NFT right? Or something along those lines.
A: @WithoutTheRope Could be a node, or just STRONG, that is staked for earning.
$STRONG Q: Have you guys thought about creating a secondary nft marketplace where it could be possible for people to list staked nfts? Maybe have it auto-unstake when sold and transferred? (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope We have, but there’s a double-spend problem, based on both being staked and being sold simultaneously. It’s something we’re looking at, but it’s rather complicated. (2/2)
$STRONG Q: Let DVPN pay their $5? So 2 strong and rewards are 5$ in DVPN. I understand it's low but so is the entry so many may just take the gamble
A: @WithoutTheRope That’s when DVPN even pays out. Currently that part of their protocol is not live. Could be a month.
$STRONG Follow up to ^ @WithoutTheRope I don’t think we’d see much adoption if people are paying $450 and getting $5 per month in return. That’s a…lemme see…90 months breakeven.
$STRONG Q: Also, what about making the strong ecosystem completely independent? For example making the monthly fee able to be paid in string, and node creation fees all charged in strong and not ETH?
A: @WithoutTheRope Currently, that’s not how the smart contracts are written.
$STRONG Q: Do you guys plan on making an updated roadmap? Something more of an infograph rather than an article type of format?
A: @WithoutTheRope We’ll be working on that soon. We have an internal roadmap, but it’s been altered based on cancelling the halvening.
$STRONG Q: Are the monthly fees going to be the same for dvpn nodes?
A: @WithoutTheRope Right now, yes. Were trying to make everything as familiar as possible. The wild card variable is how much DVPN bandwidth a given node will use per month. Unlmiited bandwidth can be expensive.
$STRONG Q: What are you planning to do regarding the @StrongNodeEdge guys?
A: @WithoutTheRope That’s with our lawyers. It’s strange that a competitor with no tech at all has say that they will use our business model and part of our name. Haven’t seen something so brazen before.
$STRONG Q: Has the team considered a whole new set of more rare NFTs for every new protocol. The strong NFTs get access they have but having a new set of NFTs for protocols would strengthen the rewards pool and incentivize those incoming to strengthen our pool as well (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope That’s similar to the “earn NFT’s” project we have been working on, where you would pay STRONG to earn NFT’s that give you access and rewards. (2/2)
$STRONG Q: Will you be announcing the next protocol to support node running soon?
A: @WithoutTheRope We’re getting them lined up. There are several in the queue that look like good fits for the community. We’ll discuss that in the community after the DVPN launch is stable.
$STRONG @WithoutTheRope The protocol is designed for many different levels of participation. Some people want to have more leverage and can afford it now. Others want it but want to earn it over time; that’s the part we’ll be adding. (on platinum NFTs)
$STRONG Q: You must have been tearing your hair out with $DVPN
A: @WithoutTheRope We still like the concept of it. We were disappointed that their rewards component has taken so long. I think the $STRONG army - will put pressure on them to up their rewards.
$STRONG Q: What can the Strong community do for you?
A: @WithoutTheRope Once we start launching new protocols, the best thing the STRONG army (I’ll use that one for now) can do is support the new protocol, while putting pressure on them to financially support building nodes.
$STRONG Q: will it be possible for our nodes to be used for things besides other Blockchains? (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Yes, there are many possibilities. We’re fans of projects like Helium. Some of our team even run their nodes in their home. So many node possibilities. Nodes are the backbone of all blockchains. (2/2
$STRONG Q: I know but the price of this “standard” reward is very far away of what a customer like DVPN is paying. So how representative is this “standard” reward (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope We wanted to establish a baseline. In most protocols, validators get everything, nodes get nothing. With the help of the STRONG Node Army, we can change that. (2/2)
$SRONG Q:I dont expect somebody with a bronze to have less of a chance on a new protocol than I have with a silver Thats not what the NFTs were about I already have my ROI back before the person with a bronze. NFTs were brought in for sustainability not priority by NFT tier (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope There are 1000 slots for the DVPN pilot. There are only 100 Platinum. Even if the lottery selected ALL Platinum, Gold and Silver, there would still be a lot of Bronzes in there.
$STRONG Q: an update on nodes migration please
A: @WithoutTheRope That will come after we get multi-node protocols launched.
$STRONG Q: Does the DVPN news, change anything with regards to the strategy of setting up STRONG nodes? (1/2)
$STRONG Q: Does the DVPN news, change anything with regards to the strategy of setting up STRONG nodes? (1/2)
A: @WithoutTheRope well be moving faster with other protocols with better rewards. Some protocols are also interested in giving token grants in place of or in addition to per block node rewards. Were determining what the best practices are for us to add them to the platform (2/2)
$STRONG Q: Do you guys ever plan on offering physical nodes such as what helium is doing or akash? Not sure if that’s possible but it would be pretty cool
A: @WithoutTheRope Our CTO would love that, so it’s a possibility.
$STRONG Q: Isn’t strong already a multi-node protocol? Do you really mean multi-protocol nodes?
A: @WithoutTheRope Well, that would imply that, without multi-node in the description, we had one node to the protocol. But, yes, multi-protocol protocol is also a way to describe it
$STRONG Q: It should definitely be considered that all Platinum and Gold NFTs get nodes. Those that were able to make that significant investment should be rewarded. I am saying that as a newer person to Strong who isn't in a place yet to afford an NFT. (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope That’s very gracious of you. The DVPN pilot will - hopefully - expand into a full protocol, and will open up to many more node operators. (2/2)
$STRONG Q: do new protocols mean buying new nodes? or do the current nodes work with them (1/2)
A: @WithoutTheRope Nodes are specific to protocols. The Eth1.0 nodes run on Eth using geth. DVPN nodes run on DVPN which runs on Cosmos. Different code, different node. Even the EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) protocols were talking to, which also run geth, run their own version.
$STRONG Q: Can you confirm if you have worked out a deal for the reward amounts with the other new protocols before announcing or launching them? (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope That’s the goal. When we first met with Sentinel in April, we were told that their rewards would be similar to ours. Then we waited. And waited. Then they made their announcement - publicly - a few weeks ago. (2/3)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope We were surprised at how low the rewards were. So, it’s a good lesson. We’re now making sure for new protocols that we have their rewards locked down. (3/3)
$STRONG Q: Is there a possibility that node providers to the likes of DVPN could be partly rewarded in kind eg free VPN services? Although, that may be enough to make our tax specialist accountants heads explode. (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope That’s complicated. With DVPN, you’ll get node rewards AND bandwidth rewards. It’s easier to work out the accounting by providing the service (the node) and getting revenue from it. (2/2)
$STRONG Q: How do you vision Strongblock is 5 years? How many protocols or total nodes can there be ?
A: @WithoutTheRope 5 years is forever in crypto. In terms of goals, 1m nodes / 50 protocols seems attainable in the next few years.
$STRONG Q: Which is the next protocol after DVPN and when can we expect it?
A: @WithoutTheRope We are considering several. We want to make sure the first one gets out correctly, as it tests the new code that allows for multiple protocols.
$STRONG Q: Whats the target for a node per day in usd pegged long term? Just that people have a realistic vision when they buy a node.
A: @WithoutTheRope That’s still under consideration. Takes a lot of analytics and modeling. We have an economist we work with on these things.
$STRONG Q:You mentioned 70 protocols Can you say how many you would consider to be down the line to having their protocol to offer
A:@WithoutTheRope Some protocols like Coinbase are very difficult to participate in, with high financial barriers They would be further down the line
$STRONG Q: One more suggestion would be to creating Node market place soon. Coz people can buy and sell NFT any time, so similar thing for nodes would be helpful
A: @WithoutTheRope That’s something we are already working on.
$STRONG Q: @WithoutTheRope Question: What protocols do YOU want to support?
Response from @WithoutTheRope Flare is on the list. Polkadot is on the list. Just added Chia. Tezos. BTC, BSC, XRP, Litecoin, XLM.
$STRONG Q:would strong ever launch another node protocol for another layer 1 decentralized blockchain similar to eth 1.0 say something like DOT or avalanche-to help keep strong token thriving and show the capabilities of strong or is monetization a much more important goal? (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Yes. DVPN is on Cosmos. We want to support EVM and non-EVM. (2/2)
$STRONG Q: I don't understand where these projects are getting their nodes from without us. Eg where are DVPN getting their nodes from up until now? Do these projects run their own or are they paying someone like Infura (1/2)
A: @WithoutTheRope VB envisioned that everyone who used Eth would run a geth node. It didnt happen. Too technical for most. Same with every protocol. Only block producers are typically rewarded on protocols. That creates a hierarchy/oligarchy. Our mission is to change that (2/2)
$STRONG Q: Would it be a stretch to provide to the other projects on cosmos?
A: @WithoutTheRope That’s a possibility. Cosmos allows you to build a protocol on top of their protocol. DVPN sits on top of Cosmos. We are validators on the DVPN network.
$STRONG Q: dvpn is on cosmos but the point is that you had to engage with their team and make deals, whereas with eth I assume strong built on it and supported it, free of charge to the eth network. Could the eth scenario happen on another layer one such as avalanche (1/2)
A: @WithoutTheRope Yes, that is a possibility. We would prefer cooperation from the protocol but, if it looks like it’s a good deal for the STRONG community and we can’t reach them/make a deal, we may proceed anyway, just like we did with Eth 1.0. That built this community. (2/2)
$STRONG Q: creating an infrastructure where the data of these nodes can be mapped and used by other protocol is also important and if we can hire some dev to superficially work in this area will add additional major revenue source in coming times (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope That’s a project that we’re working on.
$STRONG Q: Umm using our Ethereum 1.0 nodes as source and linking all other protocols to it. To join new protocol have to buy strong again but linking it to source wallet so everything can be claimed and paid in one place (1/2)
$STRONG @WithoutTheRope Yes. To be clear, just because they’re on the list does not mean we will eventually support them. We’re refining our methodology for support.
A: @WithoutTheRope We are looking at that. Wallets across protocols are messy. Token bridges are still major attack vectors. But I like the idea. (2/2)
$STRONG Q: Why are we running the pilot nodes when their rewards system is not in place.
A: @WithoutTheRope We got tired of waiting. It’s been months. It was supposed to be the start of multi-protocol. We’re getting it launched and moving on.
$STRONG Q: what is the team's alternative to the halving? Are we going to see a deflationary reward system?
A: @WithoutTheRope We have a number of alternatives. Our analytics team has built a model where we can run scenarios. That’s in process.
$STRONG Q: What do you think of keeping rewards at .10 for 100 or until ROI, then to halved to .05?
A: @WithoutTheRope That’s one lever we’re considering.
$STRONG Q: if DVPN nodes arent as profitable as STRONG nodes will you be able to reduce the cost to create a DVPN node? like 5 Strong or less. i know this is unikely with Sentinels 25k budget but if it increases is it feesable?
A: @WithoutTheRope We considered it.
That's all from @WithoutTheRope thank you for talking to the community today $STRONG

$STRONG Update from @WithoutTheRope - We are working on new protocols to launch. We now have over 70 prospective protocols we’re considering, several suggested by the STRONG community. (1/x)
$STRONG Since we announced a partnership with Sentinel on April 29, 21 we’ve been waiting for them to complete their rewards model. Our software has been ready to launch for some time. However, Sentinel does not have node rewards ready, both in their protocol and for our protocol
$STRONG- Because we’re advocates of decentralized VPNs, and want to launch DVPN nodes sooner rather than later, we’ve decided to move forward anyway. The community will therefore be supporting the DVPN network, but will not be receiving DVPN rewards for the time being. (3/x)
