Agenda item 6 at @CambsCC Highways & Transport committee includes a recommendation to remove ALL of the exclusionary barriers on the A14 active travel bridges at Bar Hill and Swavesey which we’ve been campaigning on since January.
Cllr Smith asks the representative of @HighwaysEngland to be more proactive in respect to local issues on the A428 project (where we’re also campaigning for better active travel design) and stresses the need for a safe crossing between Conington to Fen Drayton.
Cllr Milnes says the A428 project should be an exemplar and presses @HighwaysEngland to commit to adopt LTN 1/20 and not claim this is impossible on cost grounds.
Some good news for active travel users in and around Bar Hill and Swavesey: councillors on the Highways committee have voted UNANIMOUSLY to remove all four exclusionary barriers.
