**NEW**: After an incident at a Whataburger, police in La Joya, TX say they’ve learned illegal immigrants who test positive for COVID-19 are being released from federal custody to a local Catholic charity in the RGV which then places them in local hotels without notice. @FoxNews
FOX News has reached out to the charity and is waiting to hear back. On Saturday morning, our crew in the RGV shot video of Border Patrol dropping off dozens of migrants at the charity in downtown McAllen.
A local journalist in the RGV reports that one local politician, the Hidalgo County Judge, has released a statement on this.
La Joya PD says they will be going live on Facebook at 7pm local time to discuss this. Here is a link to their page. facebook.com/10360422524876…
UPDATE: The exec. director of the charity confirmed to @BorderReportcom today they are getting local hotels to take in migrants infected w/ COVID, that the incident in La Joya has been “corrected”, and a security guard will now keep migrants inside hotel.

NEW: An absolutely massive group of 350+ migrants have arrived at the border fence here in Del Rio. They are from all around the world. Haiti. Africa. Brazil. Colombia. Very few from Northern Triangle. More are streaming down the path from the Rio Grande after crossing. @FoxNews
This couple is from Ghana. They speak English. She is a baker, he is an electrician. They left Ghana in January. Flew into Brazil. Went through Bolivia, eventually got to Mexico, then made their way here to the border. They’re planning to go to Hartford, CT. @FoxNews
Another journalist here asked this migrant what she thinks about President Biden. She responded “Gracias al Presidente Biden por la oportunidad de venir aqui ahora.”
(Thanks to President Biden for the opportunity to come here now.)
Some tell us now is the time to come. @FoxNews

BREAKING: CBP reports 188,829 encounters with migrants at our Southwest border during the month of June, another increase over May’s 20 year high record number of 180,034.

VP Kamala Harris touted “extreme progress” at the border last month.

901,413 total thru June. @FoxNews
There is no way to spin these numbers. This is not seasonal migration. It’s not slowing down in the extreme heat like it normally does, it is only getting worse. We’ve now had 3 straight months over 170,000 apprehensions.
And when Title 42 goes away, expect an even bigger jump.

NEW: We just arrived in La Joya, TX this morning, and as usual, we are witnessing several groups of migrants crossing into the U.S. They are all walking around the incomplete border wall about a half mile away from us. This group told me they are from Honduras. @FoxNews
Another group of migrants has now crossed over. There is only one Border Patrol pickup truck here. Resources stretched very thin in the Rio Grande Valley. Thunderstorms and flooding aren’t slowing anything down out here. @FoxNews
Massive groups of migrants being apprehended every single morning here in La Joya, TX. This large group is waiting to be placed on a Border Patrol bus, which is already mostly full. @FoxNews

Back on the ground in the Rio Grande Valley. Within minutes of arriving on location in La Joya, TX, dozens of migrants emerging from the brush all along a road and giving themselves up to Border Patrol. Mostly teens and families.
The woman tells me she is from El Salvador. Several children with them.
We saw these women with an infant and child searching for Border Patrol early in the morning. They were safely apprehended.

NEW: "You're always gonna be a Mexican, you'll never be white, you know that?"
A Latino LASD deputy sent me his bodycam video of a woman claiming to be a teacher launching into a racist tirade against him when he pulled her over in San Dimas. She repeatedly calls him a murderer.
LASD tells me the woman called them after this traffic stop to file a harassment complaint against the deputy with internal affairs.
San Dimas station doesn't have official bodycams yet, the deputy tells me he invested in his own personal cam to protect himself on the job.
LASD also tells me the woman has a history of making false complaints against deputies.
I've learned what her name is, and she has been a professor at schools in the LA area, but at this time, I will not be identifying her because she has not returned any of my calls or emails.
