Great numbers from a handful of games, especially promising with his creativity.
🧐20/21 Review
Aït-Nouri scored after 18 minutes of his debut against CRY. The youngster showed great attacking intent playing as a LB & LWB.
In the final 9 games, the Frenchman established himself as a starter, with Jonny (£4.5) & Marçal (£4.5) sidelined. This included 2…
…Clean Sheets & even beginning to take Set Pieces!
Across the season he was 2nd for take ons per 90, Creating 14 Chances in the process, superb for a budget Defender.
Wolves also still we’re mid table on Defensive numbers, including 12th for Goals Conceded (52).
🥱Pre Season
So far, Aït-Nouri has played 2 games at LM/LW in the absence of Neto & Podence, including 76’ against Betis, suggesting Lage is seriously looking at him for LW.
And having impressed so far, it is a real possibility that the Frenchman is considered for the League…
…
Wolves’ style of play also seems to be a lot more positive, creating more chances than when under Nuno. And having registered a Clean Sheet in pre season, owners can be hoping for Clean Sheets & Attacking Returns.
The manager’s system depends on Full Backs, combining for 29 Goals in Portugal alone. They would stay very wide then either overlap or go inside to carry the ball.
Attacking Full Backs were key to Lage, giving them freedom when going Forwards. Aït-Nouri is a…
… is a gifted Left Back with a great amount of speed and mobility, and looking at the quality of his deliveries in pre season he will be a great option.
With a great cross, he is also strong coming inside so will be a favourite of Lage, so will fit right in and be a main stay.
🗓Fixtures
Wolves have a tough start, facing 3 of the top 8 for xG this season. It does get a lot easier from GW4, coming up against 2 of the promoted sides and a poor Defences.
It may be sensible to wait and see where he plays before jumping on at GW4 to clean up the points.
🔨Nailed?
🏥Jonny (£4.5)
Injured his ACL in April so will be out for the start of the season.
😬Marćal (£4.5)
Only played 13 games last season and didn’t feature when Aït-Nouri was fit.
If he doesn’t play LW then Aït-Nouri’s certainly nailed at LB, so is great value in DEF.
🔄Rotation Pairings
WOL & AVL:
(wat, NEW, BRE, wat, BRE, sou, NEW)
Partnering Aït-Nouri with a Villa Defender gives you a great run of fixtures to GW7. Villa were 3rd best for Clean Sheets last year and Lage’s system will bring more for Wolves, so they’re a good rotation pair.
📜Verdict
I am a huge fan of Aït-Nouri because of his affordable price, high Clean Sheet Potential & to top it all of he’s playing Out Of Position!
He is currently in my draft, but I don’t mind leaving him till GW4 for the fixture swing to see if he continues playing LW.

The Egyptian is the best Captaincy option for 3 GWs and would only not consider giving him the armband in GW3 & 7. Arguably he will be my captain for 6/7 GWs. From that, which are the best Captaincy options in those GWs?
😈 Bruno FernandYES
I will be sticking with Bruno as he is always a possibility of being given the armband, especially when he’s the best option in GW4.
A lot of people are going without Bruno but I think that this removes a great captaincy options and you’ll be made to pay.
As GW1 approaches, our elite panel of creators have each chosen 1 differential player that they think is gonna hit the ground running. Who are you backing as an early differential?
The Newcastle main man is currently owned by 6.2% of managers. He has previously had a good record against West Ham and will be back playing in front of a full crowd which could give them that extra boost.
With Cavani, Sancho and Pogba returning late and Rashford injured, I’d be surprised if Martial doesn’t get the start against Leeds. He’s a very streaky player - catch him in the mood and you could be in for a haul!
With Kane seeming likely to leave, how will Son cope? But I think this could be the making of him.
In a recent friendly, Son played ST (3 Goal Involvements) and looked ready to get in behind & cause problems, so arguably he will be improved as an FPL asset…
…
Son was superb last season, with 17 Goals & 13 Assists. His 134 Penalty Area Touches are great for a MID, having 23 Big Chances in Total. The Korean’s 14 Big Chances Created are also impressive.
The only downside is Kane & Son combined for 15 Goals last season so Son is…
Last season’s hero, Bamford was 2nd highest FWD scorer (194). His 17 Goals & 11 Assists superb for his first EPL Season.
The Forwards Goal Threat was strong, with 174 Penalty Touches, taking 95 Attempts in the Box. 32 Big Chances also highlighting his poacher…
…qualities. Also on Pens, Bamford’s looking a great option.
Leeds’ opening fixtures are mixed, getting better from GW7. But Leeds were attacking against any oppo last season. A major downside for me is the price, with £8.0 possibly too much for the Englishman.
