The longer 80 million remain unvaccinated, it increases the chance we wake up one day and the vaccines don’t work, because the virus mutated, and millions may die.
The virus never sleeps. It spends every moment trying to figure out how to mutate and infect more people. The only way to choke it out is for enough people to get vaccinated so it no longer can evolve.
Until we can get a complete picture of how severe Delta is to the vaccinated and unvaccinated and how fast it is mutating, to open schools and not have mask and vaccination mandates nationwide, for everyone, is insane.

People are now claiming vaccines aren’t effective because the vaccinated are getting Covid. They are getting Covid because they are bombarded by so many unvaccinated. Vaccinations still make it 3X less likely to get Covid & 10X less risk of severe disease or death. GET SHOTS!
longCovid doesn’t get enough attention. We don’t know how long the infected will have long term health issues. Vaccines help with symptoms, so another reason to GET SHOTS!

In poorer parts of the world 0 or only 1% of their population have the Covid vaccine. They won’t even get any supply until 2023. How can humanity allow such an inequity? We will have 2 worlds closed off to each other. One of containment & one of mass death & variants evolving.
It looks like we will need Covid boosters after 6 months. Study in Israel shows that the vaccines lose some protection over time AND fully vaccinated people, esp. over 60, have more severe cases after 6 months. Delta, being more contagious, also contributes.
