The AP decided to take an extremely pro-factory farm angle on this, but it’s notable that veal and egg producers—not widely known for tender care of their animals—were able to comply with California’s 2018 law while pork producers are at 4% compliance. apnews.com/article/lifest…
The draconian requirement at issue here is giving “breeding pigs enough room to turn around and to extend their limbs.”
This is clearly the disposition of the Associated Press team that produced the story.
Anyways if the pork producers of the Midwest want to lose access to 15% of the market because their obnoxious politics doesn’t allow them them to stop torturing their animals for a concrete economic reason, I guess that’s a choice they can make. But I don’t think it’s too funny.

Not every day you see a running world record fall by almost a full second.
The bronze medal guy from Brazil p much ran the old world record and wasn’t even in the picture at the finish.
Rye Benjamin was really broken up in the post race interviews because he didn’t get the gold, but he did amazing! The Brazilian bronze medalist did amazing! And Rye beat him by more than half a second!

Britney Spears is petitioning the court to remove her father as conservator of her estate and replace him with Jason Rubin.
The petition to remove James Spears isn't up on the court's docket yet (it may be sealed), but it's mentioned in her petition for Rubin's appointment.
"It is an objectively intelligent preference to nominate a highly qualified, professional fiduciary in this circumstance. Moreover, ... given ... that Ms. Spears has sufficient capacity to choose her own legal counsel, she likewise has sufficient capacity to make this nomination"
Here's that successor petition, which includes an end of 2019 balance sheet for the estate.
It's an interesting move by Spears and Rosengart to go directly at Jamie Spears' position first, rather than seeking to simply terminate the conservatorship. documentcloud.org/documents/2101…
Two years before Tom Barrack and Matthew Grimes were indicted, the government charged their Emirati associate under 18 USC 951. Unfortunately for prosecutors, he'd already fled the country, but his newly unsealed complaint contains new details about Barrack's alleged scheme.
I wrote up a summary of some new details in the 2019 complaint here, which I hope you'll read. nycsouthpaw.com/p/document-bar…
