@sainsburys which of Nigel Farage’s views do you most identify your brand with? Being as you are currently financing him and GB news through your ad spend, it seems a relevant question. Consider the following thread a little quiz #GBeebies
• In 2009 Nigel boasted that he took two million pounds of taxpayers’ money in expenses and allowances, on top of what was already a £64,000 a year salary. I am sure your lower income customers will approve (source: gal-dem)
In 2013, and I hope your Muslim customers are reading: “I just have this huge admiration for what the Aussies have done…: 'You're welcome to come here and to have your children here… but if you're coming here to take us over, you're not welcome.'" (Source: Guardian)
Or his anti Semitic dog whistling conspiracy theories (reminder, that you currently pay for): google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theg…
His love affair with an old racist banned from this website:
It is indeed an odd strategy to hitch your brand to a TV channel based around encouraging people to flout the rules around masks that keep your staff safe.
It’s even more peculiar to support a channel that rages against the anti racist values that are simply second nature to your increasingly diverse customers.
Anyway, if you can clarify which of Nigel’s greatest hits you’d like people to think about when they enter your stores and buy your goods, that would be great.
