Ok new one, seems yall like it when I look at the funny words what they put on the website and draw meaning out of them. This time we are goin over blaseball.com/library/0/1
The First Day, Zeroth Edition. A library book in the Root section of The Library
First things first, it currently appears that the library is 0 indexed, "starting" with Root, section 0. However the books dont appear to be 0 indexed, starting at 1.
The entry we will be looking at today, The First Day, Zeroth Edition, will be referred to as TFD0 for simplicity.
This thread will mostly be the explanation of additional definitions of words in these books, I implore you to try combining them yourself, because there are too many combos for me to put in this thread.
But we are gonna start even before that and spend like 10 tweets on examining the word Root. Sorry, but thats just how it goes. Lets start with the ones that most people already know, Root as in Source and Root as in Administrator access.
Root as in source implies that blaseball begins here and that nothing came before, this relies on your assumption that the first book in the first directory to be the Beginning Of Everything, and it very well may be!
blaseball relies on us making assumptions and lack of knowledge of its setting to make us realize that words are Meaningful far after they pass us by. Root as a source of everything makes perfect sense for the story told within. The perceived beginning, the source of the Rules
As for root as an admin account it also makes sense, these book titles were significantly shorter, as short as 6 | characters prior to being unveiled. these entries would be far more guarded and serve as the basis for every entry after them, a proverbial system 32 of the library.
Additional definitions for Root include:
The part of a plant underground
The embedded part of something
Cultural Origins
The fundamental note of a Chord
Short for square root
To establish deeply
To cause someone to stand immobile
You can draw whatever conclusions you want
Moving onto the book title itself, like 6 tweets in:
TFD0 is displayed in the purple often associated with the reader, known for defacing ballots and unauthorized additions. The reader is a widely liked Entity so many people consider this to be a leak, similar to the depth chart
However, this book comes to us after the deal that appears to have been made between the coin, reader, and whatever other gods. meaning this book was allowed to be released by Lootcrates, who appears to control the library.
Our good historian Lootcrates opens with an annotation from Season 23 Gods day which reads "An Opening"
Ones instinct may be be to link this to a perceived beginning of blaseball, or The Book being opened during the course of the book but there are other potential meanings here.
An opening can also be defined as a recognizable series of events at the beginning of a chess game, and as I discussed earlier the Reader tends to span many games. An opportunity to achieve something, perhaps being the one to Read the rules or open the book ...
... before anyone else has the chance. A Job position which needs filled, which matches "A Raise" said at the start of An Ascension, the next book in Root. A venerability or gap allowing for easy access. The act of parting ones eyelids, matching The readers aesthetic ...
... To begin a piece of music, unfold or spread out, to bring into view, start a new business, begin a court case, or break a circuit.

If you havent noticed yet, word choices in blaseball tend to be "meaningful".
Moving on to the story itself, Every action happens during Alpha, Gods day. Our first message is [TUMBLEWEED SOUND]. i dont have a huge rant on this one. This appears to be setting the scene, as tumbleweeds are often used to express emptiness, especially in a desert.
Presumably this takes place in Blaseball0/The Desert, as the message [TUMBLEWEED SOUND] was also added to the global feed during the first known and charted visit to blaseball0 in observed time. however that also comes with the assumption there is no other deserts settings.
Out next entry is "Sands Shifted". Sands are, you know, sand. its a desert. however it can also be defined as the act of smoothing or polishing something, or "Firmness of Purpose." Shifting can be defined as small movements or changing positions, however:
to shift can also be to move data in one direction or another in a register, to change focus, to be evasive, to change the position of two or more players in football, or to change overall strategy.
I dont think twitter will let me thread long enough to explain all of the combos.
Our next line is "Waves Crashed". The easiest assumption here is that the Desert is more of a beach, with waves of water or immateria crashing along its shore. It may also reference Reverb weather, which is displayed as a wave.
a Wave can also be defined as a sudden occurrence or increase in specific outcome or phenomena. A periodic disturbance in matter which ripples outward.
A crash can be defined as a violent collision, a sudden loud noise, being done rapidly or urgently,
A sudden drop in price or value, or a sudden failure in a computer system, which would fall in line with the occurrence of the Waveback event, the assumed source of reverb. A sudden occurrence of a computer failure in particular falls in line with the Waveback itself.
Next line is Strange Attractors Evolved. while I could break each word down the objective breaks down with Attractors, as there arent enough secondary definitions to work with.
A Strange attractor is a pattern which shows up in an otherwise chaotic system.
The process of a strange attractor developing is known as evolving, however evolve is also defined as giving off gas or heat. Attractors in blaseball have many ties to Coffee and The Baristas through Liquid Friend. This implies that the Barista may have been around in Alpha.
"Rules were Read". Rules are defined as a set of regulations or instructions, obviously. However Rules are also defined as parallel lines, understood principals, control over an area or people, an order made by a judge, or powerful influence over something.
oh wow thread limit already. guess im gonna have to do these next like 20 manually then, oh well. moving on.

to Read or have Read something is defined as comprehending the meaning of a body of work, to speak the contents of a work aloud to others, to discover information...
... To discern information from the appearance of others, to study something to copy or transfer data, to hear information that has been transmitted, or a persons personal interpretation of something.
"Apophenina sprung forth." haha, yeah it sure did. apophenia is the tendency to see patterns where there arent any. thats this whole thread and every thread i will ever post. its real apophenia hours 24/9 around here.
"The Book was Found."
a Book is defined as a bound, printed or written work, intended for publication. It is also defined as scheduling an appointment, a record of bets and payments, or a record of suspects or criminals information.
Found is presented as the though the book was lost or otherwise hidden/unknown, and then rediscovered. however Found is also defined as well equipped or supplied when referring to a ship, to establish or found a group or organization, to construct or base, to make out of metal,
to reach ones destination, to reach a specific destination or to officially declare as the true or law.

"The Book was Opened." im not redefining book, you cant make me. just scroll up 2 tweets. you know what, I defined Open earlier too. just scroll all the way to the top.
"Play Began" and there it goes. thats the end. im tired and i dont care enough about this one. i cant think of anything special here. Play Ball! tho i guess assuming its ball is a bit premature.
I might return to this to go over some of the more interesting combos of definitions, i might not. who knows. do your own, just read these words and understand everything, its that simple /s

Starting a thread about The Reader, don't expect me to be coherent, consistent, or to draw distinction between lore, story, mechanics or philosophy. because #blaseball is a mess. as of when this thread is starting we have just ended the expansion era
This is rambling and incoherent and is basically 20ish tweets of tangents and freeform thought theory and analysis of the reader
Starting at the absolute basics it appears that the reader is, by glossary definition, a Fan. they also appears to be a god, or entity of significant influence if they are able to get its blessings, will, and decrees on the ballot.
