| Thread
When we say our actions are a result of only our own decisions, we lie a bit.

Our brain is constantly tricking us, impairing our perception of reality.

Here are 10 psychological effects that override our behavior.
10 Behavioral Psychology Effects:

1. Spotlight effect
2. Tetris effect
3. Semantic satiation
4. Pygmalion effect
5. Diderot Effect
6. Halo effect
7. Bandwagon effect
8. Tention Reduction
9. Zeigarnik effect
10. Anchoring

Let's see What does any of these effects do:
1. The “Spotlight effect”

It refers to people’s tendency to assume their mistakes stand out clearly to others,

As if illuminated by a spotlight.

"Your shirt has a stain on it, you think everyone noticed.

But people at your table may not have noticed, much less anyone else."
2. The “Tetris effect”

The Tetris effect is the tendency for repeated behavior

To influence your perception, cognition, behavior, and dreams.

"After a long stretch of GTA, when you drive around,

You just want to smash your car into pedestrians for points."
3. “Semantic satiation”

Semantic satiation is a phenomenon whereby the uninterrupted repetition of a word

Eventually leads to a sense that the word has lost its meaning.

"If we pronounce a word over and over again, without pause, then the word is felt to lose meaning."
4. The “Pygmalion effect”

In the Pygmalion effect,
High expectations lead to improved performance in a given area.

"Imagine a teacher has high expectations of someone.

That has been proven true even when the person with the expectations tries their best to hide it."
5. The "Diderot Effect"

It tells us that your life is only going to have more things fighting to get in it,

So you need to understand how to curate, eliminate, and focus on the things that matter.

"You buy a new dress and now you have to get shoes to match!"
6. The "Halo effect"

Halo effect is the tendency for positive impressions of something in one area,

To positively influence one's feelings in other areas.

"We make judgments about products advertised on social media

Why do you think celebrities are hired to endorse products?"
7. The "Bandwagon effect"

The more people who use the service or product will increase,

the more satisfaction of the users grows.

“Everyone is getting the new smartphone that’s coming out this weekend,

you have to get it too!”
8. The "Tention Reduction"

A psychological effect having a mental breakdown after making a big decision.

"After a thousand dollars of planning,

you may not mind taking additional options costing you several hundred dollars."
9. The "Zeigarnik effect"

The Zeigarnik effect states that

People tend to remember unfinished or incomplete tasks better than completed tasks.

"Have you ever found yourself thinking,

What would happen next in your favorite TV show or film series?"
10. "Anchoring"

It is a cognitive bias to rely too heavily on the first piece of information offered when making decisions.

"Every time you see a discount with “$90 $50″,
the $90 is the price anchor for the $50 sales price."
Mental models are the most important ideas of each science like psychology.

With the help of books, etc,
It will internalize mental models in your head in a way that you will use them automatically
