The report is the most comprehensive assessment from the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change since 2013 and provides the strongest case yet for human-caused global warming, saying it's "unequivocal that human influence has warmed the atmosphere, ocean and land."
The UN report also details how the increasing ocean and surface temperatures will cause myriad physical changes in climate — including drought, heat waves, heavy rainfall and coastal flooding — in different regions of the planet.

"What is so menacing about this report is it really lays any doubts that anyone had about climate change to the side. And says that all of this is definitively done by human contribution to the atmosphere," @MattMcBradley says on the UN's climate report. msnbc.com/morning-joe/wa…
@MattMcBradley "This report goes further than any before it in calling it 'unequivocal' that climate change is now irreversible, severe and widespread," @JoshNBCNews reports.

"We're seeing already more severe storms, more frequent, more intense. And what this report highlights is that it's only going to continue to get worse," FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell says on the UN climate report.
