How Brihaspati (Pushya), Soma (Mrigashira), & Tara's love triangle almost led to war between the Devas & Asuras!

In astrololgy the Moon & Stars are closely linked together...

One day Soma the Moon God (Mrigashira) visited Brhaspati the Guru of Devas (Pushya).
Soma met Tara (Jupiter's Wife) in a garden and they instantly fell in love.

Tara was captivated by Soma's youthful glow in the night sky and skillful lovemaking 😉

Tara decided she didn't want to leave Soma & go back to Brihaspati so they eloped.
Sleeping with your guru's wife is considered to be a terrible sin.

Tara was Soma's gurupatni and thus considered to be like a mother to him. Bhrihaspati accuses him of adultery.
Tara refuses to go home! Brihaspati (Jupiter) extremely angry shows up to Soma's (Moon) home yelling "fool, you have committed a terrible sin! You are not worthy to live among the gods! Give me back my wife before I curse you!"
Soma laughed saying "I haven't kept Tara prisoner here and she will come back to you when she is ready." Adding that women never become impure.

Brihaspati had no choice but to leave and during this time Tara and Soma's love grew.
When Brihaspati returned Soma would not even allow him to enter the gate. When Moon never appered Jupiter started yelling "you vilest of god's give her back or i'll turn you to ashes!"
Soma comes outside again smiling saying "your wife is here because you can't satisfy her.
I have no intention of giving her back."

Even though Brihaspati had great occult powers he soon realizes that none of his entreaties or sermons work on Soma.
Moon had preformed the great horse sacrifice which had given him universal dominion.

Brhaspati becoming filled with rage went to Indra lord of the gods (Jyestha). This was not only about Jupiter (Pushya) losing his wife. This was also about him losing his job and prestige.
He wouldn't be allowed to enter the gods world anymore. Jupiter told Indra "make my wife come back or I won't preform your rituals anymore!"

Soma is the drink that primarily belongs to Indra, and Jyestha is Moon's oldest wife!
This is also the Taurus - Scorpio Axis, as well as Mrigashira being a Mercury Rashi and Mars Nakshatra while Jyestha is a Mercury Nakshatra and Mars Rashi. They are 2 sides of the same coin!
Indra told Soma that he needed to give back Tara or his rituals would go bad, and reminded him that he already had 27 other wives.

Soma also reminded Indra of Brhaspati's and his own adultery, adding that it was the whole reason Tara hated her own husband to begin with.
Indra, Brhaspati, and all the other deva gods (Ashwini, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Shravana, & Revati) decided that Soma needed to be taught a lesson so they called for a war.
Shukra (Venus) god of the asuras heard the problem and took Moon's side.

Venus promised that him and the asuras (Krittika, Shatabhisha, Vishakha, Ashlesha, Magha, Chitra, Mula, & Dhanistha) would fight if there was a war.
Shukra (Venus) & Brhaspati (Jupiter) studied under the same guru Sage Angirasa, who also happened to be Brhaspati's father.

Shukra was known to be more knowledgeable than Brhaspati, but Angirasa showed favoritism to his son.
Shukra also didn't like Vishnu (Shravana), he blamed him for the murder of his mother.

Didn't find any info on which nakshatra is Shukra in this story but I have some theories. Venus rules the Naks Purva Ashadha, Purva Phalguni, & Bharani. It also rules the Rashi Libra & Taurus
Purva Ashadha brings together the power of many gods!

Soma (Mrigashira)

Varuna (Shatabhisha) Apas husband

Agni (Krittika)

& Vishakha
(Agni & Indra taken together)

Purva Ashadha is also the birth star of Mars, it seems like the perfect nakshatra to start a war.
However I think Shukra (Venus) could also be Krittika in this story!

I read that Krittika was the most aligned with Shukra and it's a asura (demon) nakshatra!

Krittika is also the brother of Soma and the birth of Venusian energy since it's the first nakshatra in Taurus.
Brahma (Rohini) decided to interfere last moment.

Brahma is considered to be Soma's grandfather and Rohini is Soma's youngest & most favorite wife.

Brahma convinced Moon to send Tara back to Jupiter. Tara had no choice in the matter even though she didn't want to go.
However the story doesn't end here! Tara soon realizes she is pregnant!

Brhaspati (Pushya) & Soma (Mrigashira) both claim to be the father.

Neither will back down and soon the Devas and Asuras assemble again for war. Brahma (Rohini) once again speaks up!
Brahma asks Tara who's baby is it but she refused to speak.

From inside the womb the unborn child also ask Tara "Who's child am I really?"

The gods tell Tara she can not refuse to tell her own child.
Tara finally admits that it's Soma's baby!
Brhaspati puts a curse on the baby. May you become a neuter neither a man nor a women.

Soma named his baby Budha (Mercury). Soma is the first king of the Lunar dynasty & Budha is the second. Budha's son was Pururavas (Punarvasu) who later establishes the Chandravanshi Dynasty.
Jupiter eventually ends up liking Mercury because of his intellect.

Budha could represent Ardra in this story, because Rudra was also born half male & half female.

Brhaspati tires to reduce Tara to ashes but Brahma (Rohini) felt the punishment was to severe & revived her
Varuna tries to disinherit Soma. But Lakshmi (Soma's Sister) ask Parvati and Shiva for support.

Brhaspati feels Shiva is dishonouring him and another argument arises.
Brahma makes a compromise that Soma would be relegated to the outer atmosphere and forbidden entry into heaven, but granted the power over the world's (earth) water.

Personally I don't think Jupiterians are really that egotistical.

I'll be the first to admit that I am not good at something. A lot of times I try to down play my work.

Jupiterians are actually extremely hard on themselves in private.
I think others take being confident about something as having a big ego.

Idk at least that's how I feel.

Try to be objective! 😊

Comment if you have Rashi or Nakshatra placements!
