The Good, The Bad and the Ugly of Magha part 2: The Pitris and Pitriloka

Magha is ruled by the Pitris, the Ancestors of humanity. In the Puranas, Brahma created the 7 sets of Pitris out of nervous sweat due to fear of Rudra.

3 of these 7 were Pitris that are embodied- Agniṣvātta, pitrs of devas, Barhiṣadas, pitrs of various tribes of demons, giants and snakes and Somapā or imbibers of Soma, are the sons of Brighu and pitrs of the Brahmins.

The other 4 Pitris are bright-bodied, and these are Yama, Anala (Agni), Soma and Aryaman. Other Pitris include Sukālika, Ājyapā, and Havirbhuk- the pitris of the lower three varnas beneath Brahmins. Note that Sukalika is pitris of servant-class Sudras, who are kings in kali-yuga.

in the Brahmanda purana, Anala (Agni) is the year, out of Agni is born the seasons (Rtum) and that the Pitris are the sons of the seasons. This is due to the connection of the Pitris to the lunations of the moon. That is because the abode of the Pitris is the orbit of the moon.

The Pitris in general confer protection and granting of desires to those who perform Shradda rite on Amasvasya or new moons. This is when the Purūravas or the lunar kings pay their respects to the Sun and Moon, and await Shukra(waxing) period to collect nectar for Somapas.

Somapa include Kavyas, sons of Shukra, Divakirtyas, who live on the dark side of the moon, Usmapas, who live in Yamaloka and Upahutas who are the 33 devas (devata of Uttara Ashadha) who drink the nectar in 13 krishna(waning) days, reducing it to a watery form.

For the last integers of time, the rest of the Pitris drink their fill on the 14th waning day. (this is also why the new moon is associated with Rahu, because Rahu was the last to drink the Amrita).

Lunar observance rites would be carried out by the priesthood, the Magi or shaman of a given society. In Vedic society, the only ones who are permitted to perform Shraddha are those who have undergone the Brahmanical upanaya initiation.

The Pharoahs are the incarnation of Horus in life and Osiris in death. Part of their preparation to ascend out to the realm of the gods, the Pharoah is placed in the king's chamber. The pyramids allowed the soul to travel to Sirius before exiting through Thuban the North Star.

The Pyramid is a microcosm of Pitriloka, built in Earth-Moon ratio. Its alignment to Orion also has a moon association as the deity of Mrigrishira nakshatra is Soma. Mrigrishira forms the 'head" portion of the Orion constellation.

The moon itself has numerous anomalies that lends itself to an artificial nature, from evidence of it being hollow, to concave crater anomalies that suggest a hard surface under the dust, including gravity distortions on certain part of the moon.
