There is a very deep rooted psychology and subtle promotion of motives happening here. Before you judge me on What I say, read the full thread because I'am speaking with Evidence.

Captain Vikram Batra, (13 JAK RIF) wasn't given the codename #Shershaah as portrayed in the movie. I have facts to back it up.

Captain Vikram Batra was our Valiant hero and was fondly remembered by India and its people as -
"Tiger of Drass", "Lion of Kargil", "The Kargil Hero"
It was the Pakistani Army who remembered him as #Shershaah. Below is proof from verified Govt Source -

As per current laws of declassification of War History happens with a due process. In which de-classification takes place after a set period of 25 years without revealing sensitive information.

There have been certain changes wrt to publishing wear histories, but they are strictly for Internal use and understanding to avoid future mistakes. This was in line with Recommendations made by "Kargil Review Committee"

However, details of the 1962 War, Kargil Battle and operations like Bluestar and other sensitive work will remain classified, - As per current stance on Declassification.

Thus proving there is basis for Dharma production to claim that #CaptainVikramBatra's code name was #Shershaah as proven from factual evidence above and other stated facts.

#Shershaah was a name given to him by the Pakistani Army because they considered #Shershah as great. At the best, reality was starkly different. Which is for another time to be told.

However, just think - Why so much distortion and choosing of a controversial name when they could have easily named it

Tiger of Drass
The Hero of Kargil
Lion of Kargil

But, no instead they subtly chose an invader and conqueror's name given by opposing army.
