On May 31, 1578 a catacomb containing an estimated 500,000 remains was discovered near Rome’s Via Salaria road. The Catholic church distributed some of the remains throughout Northern Europe. Most of the decorated skeletons disappeared c1900

1450 Map of the world by Fra Mauro

Two original editions of the map were made, one was lost in 1494. In the description of England it states "In ancient times Anglia was inhabited by giants, but some Trojans who had survived the slaughter of Troy came to this island, fought its inhabitants and defeated them"
