Important context to grasp the gravity of the geopolitical blunder now unfolding: America went to war in Afghanistan after the 9/11 hijackers were awarded U.S. visas by the State Department and then murdered almost 3,000 Americans, felled the Twin Towers & set Pentagon ablaze.1/
The states rationale for staying all these years was “fight them over there so we don’t have to fight them over here.” No one ever explained why a better solution wasn’t to deny entry to jihadists or their ideological sympathizers around the world. 2/
Strangely, many in the foreign policy establishment opposed Pres Trump’s travel bans & visa curbs to keep violent extremists & their supporters from gaining entry to United States—including of course Pres Biden who has terminated those curbs & restrictions on high-risk entry. 3/
It’s now an inevitability, after Biden’s staggeringly incompetent exit, that an exodus will try to leave Afghanistan—eventually millions. Most will have never worked for US government or fought the Taliban. Like Syrians, Somalis, many will end up in regional UN refugee camps.4/
The State Department, using Biden’s debacle as pretext, will try to being as many of the UN-selected refugees to the U.S as possible (instead of regional placement. This will persist for decades. Somali resettlement dominated US refugee program decades after black hawk down. 5/
Because State Dept does not have ideological screen, and because records will be sparse to non-existent, meaningful security checks will be impossible. Once the diaspora is relocated here, chain migration kicks in as opposed to theoretically more rigorous refugee screening. 6/
As France has experienced from its own military misadventures, the picture then becomes complex. Some arrivals don’t assimilate. Others hold more extreme beliefs. Some blame host country for what happened to their home. Sometimes 2nd or 3rd generation becomes radicalized. 7/
Bottom line: if we are not careful, all we could have to show for 20 years in Afghanistan is a failed terror state, a humanitarian catastrophe, and an immigration policy that has brought the threat of jihadism inside our shores. 8/
If we want to safely and effectively assist the *millions* of people likely leaving Afghanistan, the focus must be on regional resettlement—not mass relocation inside the United States. 9/9

ALERT: The Democrat Budget not only grants mass amnesty for illegals but also eliminates statutory immigration caps to award MILLIONS of extra green cards to chain migrants & foreign workers. Biden’s “budget” is the most dramatic immigration rewrite since 1965 w/Ted Kennedy. 1/11
Biden’s agenda is maximum migration: illegals, refugees, Afghan nationals, guest workers (esp. H1Bs), LPRs, low-wage foreign workers for corporate donors, etc. The Dem budget is central to realizing this agenda, showering the world with US green cards. Screenshots to follow. 2/11
As you read screenshots from the Dem Budget remember that an Immigrant Visa (aka green card) gives foreign nationals lifetime residency, work auth, gov benefits, path to citizenship & continual chain migration. (This is all wholly separate from/add’l to amnesty for illegals).3/11

Today, we mark 20 years since our nation was murderously attacked by terrorists on Sept 11, 2001. With heads bowed, we mourn for the precious lives stolen from this earth. We give eternal thanks for the firefighters and police officers who battled hell and now rest in heaven. 1/4
We pay humble tribute to the military heroes who vanquish our enemies and safeguard our homeland. We honor the law enforcement sentinels and unknown warriors who give all they have in defense of our people. Their unselfish love and patriotism is our nation’s greatest blessing.2/4
And we give our whole heart to the families: to everyone who lost the people they cherished, adored and cared for most in the world. The agony of your loss, the pain of your grief, confer onto all of us a sacred obligation: to keep their names, stories and memories alive. 3/4

ALERT: Biden just sent Congress his Administration’s policy “riders” for the Gov’t Funding Bill (Continuing Resolution). They include lifetime welfare & path to citizenship for every unvetted Afghan national Biden has randomly flown—or will fly—into US, and their relatives. 1/10
In this first screenshot you can see the covered population is ANY Afghan national living in ANY country that Biden flies to the US between last July and the end of *NEXT* fiscal year. By definition, they lack lawful status. If adopted in CR, it’s likely renewed annually. 2/10
In the next section, they eliminate every statutory vetting process, and every legal qualification, by declaring the sole standard to be whatever Mr. Open Borders (Mayorkas) rubber stamps via the misnamed “Operation Allies Welcome” (there’s zero requirement to be an “ally”). 3/10

Thread: screenshots from the new @nytimes expose on Biden’s Afghanistan airlift debacle—and the Afghan migrant crisis now brought to our shores. There must be resignations and terminations based on the facts documented in this article. Full story here: nytimes.com/2021/09/03/us/…

Those who are praising Biden’s deadly incompetence—in which the distant relations of randomly-chosen Afghan nationals regardless of need were evacuated, while the very nationals you would deem a priority were excluded—are elevating partisan fealty above personal integrity. 1/9
Regardless of who you think ought to be evacuated from a pop. of 40m—and, just as important, to where—the one inescapable fact is that if someone is stranded, Biden and Biden alone is the one who stranded them. An uncomfortable truth for some partisans, but an undeniable one. 2/9
Another hard truth for partisans: because 45 wisely slashed US refugee resettlement to prioritize safer, more humane, far more effective regional placement, DOS had more resources to vet SIVs. 6K more SIVs issued under 45 than prior 4 years under 44, pandemic notwithstanding. 3/9

Warning: this is Biden’s most *radical* proposal yet. Biden’s new rule would allow USCIS officers—the most pro-illegal contingency at DHS—to grant full & immediate asylum to illegal aliens in Border Patrol custody. Asylum=green card, welfare access, fast-track to citizenship.1/5
Admin assumes media won’t grasp magnitude of this change. Currently, asylum hearings are held before DOJ immigration judges in adversarial process w/ICE attorneys (aliens who skip get denied). Under this plan, pro-illegal bureaucrats just freely hand out asylum at the border. 2/5
Under Trump, we had Safe 3rd agreements that required illegals seeking asylum to go elsewhere. @SecBlinken, the genius failing to evac Americans, terminated the Safe 3rds. Now, Biden’s new proposed reg would effectively turn our border into a citizenship factory for illegals.3/5
