Basically whoever is keeping you secure will have tremendous power/leverage over you.
Whether they exploit their position or not is another thing, but human nature dictates that they likely will.
Bosses are often nasty for a reason.
They KNOW they monopolize your livelihood.
If you want security, you have to give up your freedom.
You can never get freedom by choosing security; at most, you'll get the illusion of freedom a.k.a. you have to get permission to do most things.
You'll always be beholden to the person who's putting food on your table.
What if you choose freedom?
If you choose freedom, i.e. you don't want to be under the thumb of another person, then you must be resourceful and figure out a way to provide your own security.
If you succeed, or if you fail, you and only you would care about you.
Most find this level of personal responsibility too daunting and would rather flee to the safe familiarity of an employer, a parent, a breadwinning spouse, or government welfare.
If you choose freedom, then you're giving up security and deciding to fend for yourself.
Scary.
I can't expect normal people to choose freedom over security like I would.
Freedom to them is useless as they're simple creatures with a slave mentality, have no goals in life that requires great autonomy, and are easily happy with music, electronics, food, consumer goods, etc.
Unfortunately this group of fucktards also have access to the ballot box.
It's no wonder that there has been a shift towards the welfare state over the last 100 years.
People are becoming lazy and just expect the government to pay for everything, like this whole UBI shit.
Choosing security over freedom is a female survival strategy.
But society is becoming increasingly feminized, adults increasingly infantilized, and people have become just more and more dependent on the government for healthcare, welfare, housing, food stamps, etc.
The collapse of society will begin the moment people realize they can vote for money directly.
I'll leave this quote by Alexander Fraser Tytler for you to ponder over:

Normal people will never find convincing that governments do certain things for power/control.
Only time I saw them questioning the powers that be was when the Pfizer CEO recommended booster shots, and then they went, "Ah, you're only saying that because you want more money!"
But that's because they're projecting.
All these peasants want is to never work again and to lead an easy life -- that means money.
They can never fathom what power and control can be good for, or why one would even want to amass it.
They're basically simpletons.
Some people are just not driven by opulence and luxury and immense overflowing wealth.
For every greedy corrupt bastard like Hermann Goering, there's a power-hungry megalomaniac like Adolf Hitler who cares little for material extravagance.
