Starting now and sporadically going forward, I'll post short synopses for the Swedish James Bond comics, continued from the John McLuskey/Yaroslav Horak/etc comic strips. Many of these have not been translated into English. As far as I know, nobody's done this before. >>
I'll note where the Swedish title deviates from the original title and other interesting facts as I go along. In all there were over a hundred stories published. I'll skip the Fleming stories - with one exception. >>
I'll post these sorted by their original date in the Swedish James Bond magazine, which started in _1965_ and ran to 1996. Some were specially written on licence for the Nordic market. The first one, chronologically, was "Den gyllene triangeln" (The Golden Triangle) in 1982 >>
>> but the first published one with new material was actually The Spy Who Loved Me, in 1969 (in the UK in 1967-1968), written by Jim Lawrence and drawn by Yaroslav Horak, under the title "Operation Spökflyg" (Operation Ghost Flight): >>

And that's all the non-Fleming/non-novel-based/non-film-adaptation comics published by Semic in the Nordic countries that I am aware of. Here are a few take-aways from reading all those comic adventures: >>
1. Most of the adventures follow this pattern: several people are attacked or something big is stolen, Bond traces some lead to a girl who is in danger (and maybe is killed), Bond infiltrates the company of a rich man who has some plot to make more money, kills him and gets >>
>> the girl. So, basically, the plot that Fleming started in Live And Let Die. Variations include more From Russia With Love-type stories. >>
2. There is often an invention or unveiling at the center of the story, as in the airplane from the movie Casino Royale, which Bond discover is used to wreak havoc on and which he later uses to kill the bad guys. >>
3. Sometimes, the stories' beginning and end has very little to do with each other. Often the beginning is used to pad out the length. For instance, Bond can be on a mission for a few pages and then M calls to put Bond on another mission. When it happens it's quite jarring. >>
4. Many adventures have stories which a quite different from both Bond of the novels and Bond of the films. There are plenty of stories of clones, cyborgs and gene manipulation, for instance, but also several stories where other 00's are involved. >>
5. M is there, but Q is often absent, while Tanner is surprisingly present. A infrequent guest character is Suzie Kew, a fellow agent. May, Bond's housekeeper, is sometimes there, but we rarely see Bond's home. >>
6. You'd think there'd be more guest spots from characters from the novels or films, but there's only Dr No (once, more or less the same plot), Tatiana Romanova (once, and there's nothing special about her appearence) and a little bit of SPECTRE (mostly led by Madame Spectra). >>
Other recurring villains and characters include Dr Cat (a Dr No type) and Dominique (who controls plants), but otherwise the villains are very often new talents, using variations of Stromberg's/Drax's plots. >>
7. There are a surprising number of all-female gangs and surviving Nazis and Communists with world-domination plots, and even more billionaires with killer animals (snakes, apes, condors, bats are just a few examples). >>
8. One of the things that bother me at a few adventures is that Bond remarkably is unable to start cars without keys. He remarks several times that it's lucky how someone's left the keys in the car. >>
9. I've looked online, but there doesn't seem to be one recap list which is complete. The closest list is probably the one on Swedish Wikipedia: sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Bon…. But that list contains several errors, as do some of the others I've found.>>
I am totally open to the possibility that my own list here has a few errors. I've noted a few typos here and there, but Twitter is unforgiving.
I am also open to answering any questions that you may have about the Swedish publications of the James Bond comics.

And if you want to publish this list anywhere, feel free, but please credit Lennart Guldbrandsson <3
