About 200 Anti-fascists (antifa) are gathered in downtown Portland, Oregon to counter a planned far-right rally

On the the edge of Protland, proud boys and about 100 others are rallying in a parking lot

The messaging here is that those being persecuted for the January 6th insurrection are political prisoners.

5:46pm : Gunman exchanged fire in downtown Portland.

I am crouched behind a vehicle. A Latino family got out of the vehicle to run for cover, a young teenager was still inside.

“bájate” a relative and I both say. The teenager jumps out and crouches next to journalists.

Moments after gunfire ended, Portland residents re-emerge onto the sidewalk.

This is the same spot where two weeks earlier a man walked by with an airsoft gun modeled to look like a real rifle.

Police did enter this area until 5min after the last shot.

Portland police statement.

Police announced prior they would not intervene in crowds.

The result was widespread violence, including gunman exchanging fire in downtown Portland.

New: CHP isn’t supposed to aim less-lethal munitions at protesters’ heads and fire into crowds. It did at UCLA.

We found at least 25 instances in which officers appeared to aim their weapons at the eye-level of protesters or fired them into crowds.

Happening now at UCLA: counter protestors are clashing with pro-Palestinian demonstrators, attempting to tear down the Gaza encampment.

Counter protestors are in a full on brawl with pro-Palestinian demonstrators at UClA.

Some counter protestors have been using sticks to try strike the hands of demonstrators holding the fence.

Both sides are using pepper spray in exchanges.

Protestors calling for a Ceasefire in Gaza have blocked the 110 southbound freeway in Los Angeles

About 50 protestors are staging an act of civil disobedience, shutting down the 110 freeway during rush hour in Los Angeles.

Half a dozen Highway patrol officers are at the scene now.

Protestors are holding the freeway, highway patrol officer are about 100 feet away watching for now.

There are about a dozen commuters who have gotten out of their cars and are arguing with protestors about blocking the freeway.

The story of the search and rescue of the Seven Oaks community in the mountains of the San Bernardino National Forest, cut off from the world during Tropical Storm Hilary.

Greg & his wife fled during the storm, literally running to saftey.

At the Chino Valley School Board meeting the board is voting on a policy that would out trans students.

The policy would require teachers to notify parents within 72 hours if a student wishes to be identified by a pronoun other than the one “listed on their birth certificate”

California Attorney General Bonta issued a statement today expressing “serious concern” over the proposed Parental Notification policy that Chino Valley Board is considering.

The school board has already ejected a few attendees for “unruly behavior” (they cheered or shouted)
