Quick thread on what I feel are the most promising developments from #Giants training camp thus far:
1. EDGE Lorenzo Carter: Achilles injuries used to be a career death sentence, but that appears to no longer be the case. Carter looked explosive at minicamp and carried (cont)

it over to training camp. Wasn't expecting a major contribution from him in 2021, now expecting he'll start and play most snaps off EDGE. He was a top-3 breakout candidate for me in Patrick Graham's system that's a cookie-cutter fit for his skill set. Offers best edge bend (cont)

2. Will Hernandez looks a lot better. Maybe it's being removed from COVID (long haul effect for 300+ lb people). Maybe it's the body transformation. Maybe it's the offszn work w/ @BigDuke50 but he's starting to look more like the player we expected out of (cont)

UTEP and more like the player we saw in 2018. Like Carter, on paper he should be a better fit for this blocking scheme than what #Giants had in 2018&2019. Could end up a + asset on an otherwise weak OL.
3. Carter Coughlin is transitioning to his new role a lot faster than (cont)

I could've anticipated. Part of this is that Graham's unique system doesn't pigeonhole him in one role. Coach and Coughlin have done an incredible job finding spots that fit what he does best. Now, an otherwise shallow ILB position looks a lot deeper. And he has positioned (cont)

4. Azeez Ojulari has missed some time w/ injuries, but when on the field, his game looks like it will immediately translate (it's what I predicted from his college tape, but it's good to see it happen). His skill set is also a great fit for (cont)

Graham's system and more importantly he also has a ready-made pass rushing move that translates. Carter + Ojulari taking majority EDGE snaps gives #Giants a massive upgrade to what they had in 2020. Massive.
5. Team might be on to something with Raymond Johnson (No. 91) (cont)

At first what looked like an absolute roster longshot is now looking like a potential obvious passing down contributor. Maybe the #Giants place Johnson on practice squad Year 1, but I wouldn't be surprised if he makes the roster. He moves really, really well for this size/frame.
