You are suddenly a Nobody in the online space.

What would you do?

How to start from NOTHING in the 〈 Digital Space 〉👨‍💻

[ T H R E A D] 👇
1. Adjust and cultivate beliefs

- you hit the digital rock bottom, think deeply about what you want to do next; would you do things the same way?
- learn your why
- share your thoughts and desires on wealth
- cultivate the belief that you can do it; announce your renascence
2. Work with your garage door up

- document the journey of building yourself up (blog/on film)
- share your unfinished work with the public (thoughts, book notes, tweets, code, videos)
- show the tools you are using, the resources, the threads you are reading, the inspiration
Use the act of documenting your process to your advantage and share the lessons learned, struggles, solutions.

The writer might share a couple of passages on Twitter, an illustration on Instagram, and even a teaser video on YouTube. This is how you can keep people engaged.
We are so used to seeing the finished product. The sparkles. The congratulation messages. It is what we share, what we post on social media.

Talk about your process instead, what you are struggling with, where you got stuck and how you got out. More people will resonate.
3. Value first, returns after

- give, give, give, give, give 100X and then do the ask
- focus on leveling up
- provide value without expecting anything in return
- always have an audience of one — yourself

4. Target a market you are genuinely interested in

- aim for a market filled with people you care about
- find ways to make the process of building enjoyable and fun
- this way, doing your work won't become a chore, but something you actually care about
5. Time to learn a lucrative/monetizable skill

- start small and make a list of your interests
- select one and ask yourself: how can I increase my skill level while also providing value?
- watch tutorials and free videos online (dooh!)
- aim for transferable skills
Combine skills:

UX Designer + YouTuber/Streamer
Computer Science & SEO/SEM Marketing
UI Designer + Mathematician
Historian + Lawyer + Statistician
Programmer + Philosopher + Public Speaker
smartphone + internet = greatest resource library in your pocket 📙

computer + internet = let's go to Mars 🚀

I was astonished to find out how many individuals are not well-versed in leveraging these modern-day wonders.
6. Work permission/less

- be on a lookout, opportunities are everywhere
- work for free, with and without asking for permission, while documenting your journey
- create a list of people you would like to work with/for, everyone is consuming someone else's content
Pick a piece you enjoyed, something specific (video, podcast, article, tweet)

Reach out to the creators and vocalize why you enjoyed their work, as well as adding valuable points of your own.

Use cases below ↓
Permissionless Writer

- you are going to spend quite some reading, writing, reaching out
- this has multiple unseen benefits
- find your interest, your niche, the things you like reading about
- start putting your work out there
- pick a piece of content from one of your favorite medium-sized bloggers
- convert it into a Twitter thread
- share it with the creator, for free

"Hey, I just finished reading your article and it was very action-packed! Here are my notes on it, ready to be shared on Twitter."
Permissionless Designer

- you are going to spend some time watching tutorials and uploading knowledge into your apparatus
- if you are a designer, you can start redesigning YouTube thumbnails
- reach out to YouTubers and share their new thumbnails with them for free
- write down some notes on why you think your thumbnails will work better versus what they are currently using

do this with enough people and see what happens.
7. Your first paying gig

at this point, hopefully, you will have enough micro-projects, blogs, designs, testimonials, you can add to your portfolio.

if you haven't already, create a website and upload your projects

did I say about DOCUMENTING your journey?
- read books/blogs about the psychology of pricing to figure out how to price yourself
- create a pricing plan page
- read everything you can get your hands on about how to be a freelancer
8. Productise yourself

- move from an hourly charging rate to a productized charging rate
- create packages/tiers e.g. 'Buy WYZ and you'll get X for free.'
- study non-violent communication, deal-making, negotiation
9. Multiply yourself

- understand that you cannot be everywhere
- hire people that enjoy doing what you don't
- use the time you get back to focus on what matters to you
- invest in things that eliminate friction
Results will then be generated by your curated system, not by a single individual alone on the battlefield.

And if you do that just from the snowball effect of relationships and skills, you will succeed on a meta-level.
