1/ So much misinformation going around about the dogs. The US military did not leave their dogs behind. The dogs in crates at airport are contractor working dogs that were rescued by KSA and are being flown out by @VetSheepdogsUS. The CDC does not allow dogs from 100 nations in

2/ that includes Afghanistan. The working dogs have the paperwork (e.g. rabies shot) to go to Germany for quarantine for 30 days before going to the US. The other dogs without paperwork were released from their crates in enclosed area of airport (former employee housing) w/ food

3/Charlotte of KSA returned to shelter (where there still are the cats) and they are hoping to recapture the dogs and get them out as well. This has captured the interest of many high profile organizations and is being worked on

4/For all those complaining, 2500 shelter pets are euthanized in the US every day. Go on instagram and follow some #rescuecat #rescuedog tags and you will find tons of rescue organizations and private citizens devoting their life to TNR and saving puppies and kittens

5/ the amount of suffering they are seeing is heartbreaking, covid left so many pets home and ownerless and just like hospitals shelters are at their wits end. Want to make a difference stop tweeting. Foster a dog or a cat or better adopt one.

6/ I hope everyone understands the ridiculous amount of danger our troops were in on the last day as there was nobody left to defend the airfield. Somebody could try to shoot down the last plane for example. As before hat the dogs could not fly to the US directly is on CDC.

7/ lastly, the ppl working together here are on opposite sides of political spectrum both committed to the cause but some of their followers started attacks on the other side. Plus some people who don't care about animals spread lie about military dogs left for political reasons
