I want to thank Milton’s Muslim communities for inviting me to speak today at Friday Prayers. I’m proud to be a Liberal, a party that has taken concrete action against Islamophobia, and has committed to more focused effort.

We were the government that:
✅Launched Canada’s Anti-Racism Strategy
✅Hosted a National Summit on Islamophobia
✅Provided funding for communities at risk of hate-motivated crime to enhance security at places of worships
But there’s a lot more work to do.

A re-elected Liberal government will:
➡️Present a National Action Plan on Combating Hate by 2022
➡️Establish a Support Fund for Survivors of Hate-Motivated Crimes to help with uninsured costs
➡️Create a safe haven for those facing religious persecution around the world
