Thinking about how there's never been a better time to be a video/performance analyst at the lower levels. If you're just starting out, or wanting to start, I've compiled a few tools you can take to your clubs for FREE 👇
@MetricaSports basic plan. Tag/code your matches and then telestrate clips with the same visuals top teams use, completely for free. You can download the free version here: get-trial.metrica-play.com/free
Create your own xy event data with @FC_Python 's brilliant tool.
Would recommend dropping the data into @tableaupublic to visualise. Also free, and very easy to pick up for beginners. Loads of great tutorials on youtube, e.g. those from @thevideoanalyst !
Free tactics board to make 2D animations! Awesome tool from @abhisheksh_98
If you're more comfortable working in powerpoint, or want to make them for other sports, check out @TonyBambrick's tutorial on making 2D tactics animations
List is quite football dominated but if that's your sport & you want to learn more on tactical concepts in a really accessible way, check out @EricLaurie (try the wakelet link in his bio) or the work of @CarlonCarpenter who has a g-drive of analysis vids
If you are interested in the data side, and want to learn python and apply it to sports data, @FC_Python has fantastic free resources and lessons on their website & @mckayjohns has a wide range of brilliant youtube tutorials
