"I dont WANT to be a boy. I am a boy. also i can too still be a princess. DaGe said, and DaGe knows ALL!"

"Well thats stupid. If you wanna be a princess so badly then you are a girl. Besides, I heard some teachers talking about how you arent REALLY a boy. You just PRETEND and people act along!"

NHS took a slow breath. A princess musnt rise to such bait! Besides, even if he was only

8, he knew how to act regal.

"I am a princess in the same way that MianMian is a prince!"

As if summoned, the girl popped up. "Yes, princess?"

WC scoffed. "Well thats obviously stupid too. But also its different because shes a real girl anyway."

LQY arched a brow,hands on her hips. "You are just mad that hes prettier than you could ever be with your big forehead! And you are mad cuz a-sang is a better, prettier, and SMARTER princess than you could ever be."

NHS gawked at LQY before fanning himself. "My prince!"

(Yes I know this is tagged sangcheng and it is I SWEAR but mianmian baby playing prince....she should jokingly also refer to jzx as your highness lol)

(Also yes nhs is trans and his brother HELLA supports him even if he is confused. And yes you can know you are a different gender at a young age.)

LQY laughed and pat NHS head while WC stomped his foot. "That doesnt matter! If I WANTED to be pretty I could! It's not like.i wanna be a princess! I'm a BOY!"

LQY rolled her eyes and looked at NHS offering her hand. "We can continue playing somewhere less noisy."

"Ok!"

"Hey! Where are you going!" WC stomped over and gave NHS a firm shove, causing him to fall on the ground. NHS blinked in surprise on his hands and knees, slowly lifting his hands and seeing the way the gravel and rocks had scraped open his hands, and his knees stung. He could

already feel tears of irritation welling up.

"Hey!" LQY frowned as she pushed WC to the ground, then carefully helped NHS up while wiping his tears. "Are you ok?"

NHS could throw a fit. He had a right to, as a youngest child and as a princess. But he also knew dage was struggling so he just let her help him up before dusting himself off while wiping his eyes.

"This is nothing. Just a brutal ape showing jealousy."

2 years later, a new family moves down the road. There are kids around NHS age,so his dage encourages him to get to know them so that they wont feel left out in school. Now, nhs thinks that's smart cuz being in anew place must be hard! He will be their friend!

Their big sister is the ULTIMATE princess, in his opinion. Her smile makes everything ok, Her voice is the SWEETEST thing he has ever heard, andher snacks? Like magic! A real life princess, and living so close!

The boys were nice too,of course! One was very loud (but fun) and

The other was a little quiet and grumpy,but would also tag along even if he complained. Some people at school thought he was rude, but nhs thought he just didnt communicate like everyone else.

And that's ok!

Nhs liked jc perfectly fine as he was.

Speaking of school, the more times that passed, the more annoying things became. WC had found some older kids that agreed with him, along with more annoying kids in their age group. Everytime nhs turned around people were mocking him, calling him a girl, and going out of their

Way to try and make him cry. Most of the time it was fine. He could take it. Other times they felt the need to bring up how he was an orphan. How he was nothing but a burden to his brother. Those times actually left him in tears, but he would wait til they were gone to cry.

But it wasn't TOO bad. It wasn't something he would bother dage with. Dage already spent so much time stressing over college and working more than he should just time make sure they had what was needed. Nhs was young, not stupid. he always tried to help out where he could, even

learning to cook so that way dage could come home to food in the fridge even if nhs was asleep.

The bullies were starting to resort to violence, and never where a teacher could find them

NHS tried to make it to the bathroom without anyone seeing him, his lower lip throbbing and holding together his shirt that one of the bullies had literally cut open with scissors to 'prove' that nhs was a girl. luckily they didnt cut his sports bra too, but it was enough.

of course he wasnt so lucky. the moment he made it to the bathroom, wwx and jc were just leaving it.
wwx was laughing about something, but his laughter immidiatly cut off when he saw nhs, took in the tears, the cut clothing, and the obvious scrapes and swollen lip.

Before nhs could get a single word off, JC had taken off his shirt and practically forced it over his head. His hands seemed to be shaking.
"where are they?" Wwx asked while the two of them ushered nhs into the bathroom, jc immidiatly working on cleaning nhs the best he could

with papertowels and water.
"Why didnt you come get help?"
"Nobody was around. Besides, I still have my pride. I refuse to become this 'girl' they think i am."
JC grit his teeth as he reached out as if wanting to brush at where there was a cut on nhs' lip, but then quickly

pulled his hand back.
"You don't have to deal with this by yourself."
"Yeah!" wwx joined in, smacking a fist into his other hand with a scowl. "We can make them wish they were never born!"

(pausing here to say they are about 13 here!)

"Also this time you really need to tell the teachers. They went too far." JC said with a serious expression. "And there is no way your dage wont notice your face, so you might as well go to the nurse."

"Also, JC has to go with you cuz otherwise how we explain his lack of a

shirt?" Wwx grinned and avoided a punch from JC.

"Hey! He needed it more than me!"

NHS smiled as he watched them, really glad that he had such kind friends. A princess needed good friends, and being different in general he knew he needed the support.

The nurse fussed over him and parents were called. JCs mom brought him a new shirt and seemed angry, though wwx and jc both assured him that her anger wasnt at him.

DaGe was the most angry though.

NHS just wanted to go home, honestly, but he also didnt want to be alone. He knew dage had to go back to work, so he figured he could just stay in school the rest of the day.

however...

"You go do what you need to. I will take him home." yzy looked to the principal as if daring

him to argue, before her eyes landed on nmj. "you can come pick him up after work."

NMJ thanked her while also fixing a glare at each teacher in the office. "Let it happen again, I dare you."

It was of no surprise to nhs that the bullies were seen as innocent because nobody

saw them and nobody admitted it. YZY brought him home with her and showed him how to defend himself without hurting himself. Her chin was raised proudly as she said his body was made a little different so he had to fight in a way that worked with it, not against it.

"They hurt

you because they go after whom they see as weak. You are stubborn, which makes them even more angry. Always be ready."

When JC and WWX came home, they all sat on the floor, thigh to thigh to thigh, as they watched an action film. JC and WWX had apparently decided that nhs had to

sit in the middle so he could feel all their support.

it was really cute, actually.

And it worked.

By the time Dage came and picked him up (with his favorite dessert!) NHS felt much better.

The next time something happened, JC and LQY happened to turned the corner just in time to see. It took no time at all for the both of them to jump in. Since JC and LQY had a bit of a reputation, a few of the bullies ran off leaving WC to face the consequences of his actions

NHS was nursing his wrist against his chest, since it had been twisted by a bully after nhs had thrown a punch at WC. WC currently had a bloody nose and was shouting for LQY to get off of him. (she had decided to sit on his back and watch to make sure the bullies didnt return.

"You got hurt because you fought back." JC sounded upset.

"Your mom says its better to fight back." NHS muttered, wincing while JC checked his wrist.

"Well yeah shes right, but that doesnt mean you cant have someone else fight for you."

NHS blinked, staring at jc with confuion

"What do you mean?"

"Y-you call yourself a princess right? A princess doesnt HAVE to fight their own battles. Thats what..." JC paused, his face going red as he suddenly seemed less sure of himself.

"yes?"

"I...I mean...LQY is your prince and so..." He stopped again, LQY

glancing over and suddenly looking delighted. NHS didnt understand, but he stayed silent, hoping JC would say what he means. Finally he took a breath, but looked away.

"A princess needs a knight that fights for their honor, right? If shes your prince, i can be your knight."

NHS could feel his own cheeks get really warm, and despite the pain he was in, his smile was true.

"Ok. Then it is your duty to fight for my honor."

JC looked back, still embarassed, but very serious when he nods. "I promise."

"Well is the knight gonna take his princess to

the nurse?" LQY slowly got off of wc, only to pull him up by his ear. "Our princess is hurt and I think its time someone answers to their trials against him."

JC nodded and lifted NHS (much to his surprise!) and carried him all the way to the office with LQY and WC behind.
