📈 As we emerge from the pandemic, we face crucial decisions.

❓ Do you want Scotland's recovery in Scotland's hands, or those of Boris Johnson?

🗳️ If it's safe to do so, we will offer Scotland this choice in the first half of this parliament - by the end of 2023. #ScotPfG
💷 We will increase frontline health spending by 20% each year, making it at least £2.5 billion higher by 2026-27.

🏥 We’ll also invest £10 billion in new and upgraded hospitals and facilities - increasing capacity and tackling backlogs. #ScotPfG
🧠 We’re ensuring that 10% of all frontline health spend will be dedicated to improving and expanding mental health.

🤝 This includes £120 million this year to support the immediate recovery of mental health services. #ScotPfG
Drug-related deaths are heartbreaking and unacceptable, and it is our national mission to tackle it.

We’re committing to invest £250 million to tackle Scotland’s drug deaths emergency - ensuring better outreach, treatment, rehabilitation and aftercare services. #ScotPfG
🤝 As a minimum, we’ll deliver £800 million more for social care - that’s an increase of 25% by the end of this parliament.

💛 And we will introduce a Bill to establish Scotland’s new National Care Service, the most significant reform since the creation of the NHS. #ScotPfG
🎒 We will invest £1bn to tackle the poverty-related attainment gap - and we’ve already invested £215 million in the first 100 days of this Government.

🧑🏼‍🏫 This will help fund 3,500 additional and permanent teachers, on top of the 1,400 recruited during the pandemic. #ScotPfG
🏠 We’re working hard to ensure everyone has a safe place to call home - delivering more affordable homes and investing extra £50 million to tackle homelessness.

✅ On top of the 100,000 we've already delivered, we will deliver 110,000 more affordable homes by 2032. #ScotPfG
🏘️ We’re determined to deliver fairer housing, with stronger tenants’ rights in the rented sector.

🤝 We will bring forward a Housing Bill and design and implement an effective national system of rent controls. #ScotPfG
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 We have a bold plan for a fairer, greener economic recovery for Scotland.

🌊 This includes a £500 million fund for a Just Transition in the North East - supporting new, good and green jobs of the future, and re-skilling people to access them. #ScotPfG
🏡 We will invest at least £1.8 billion to make Scotland’s homes and buildings more efficient and easier to heat - while also tackling fuel poverty.

🌍 This will help decarbonise a million homes by 2030, and help us reach net zero by 2045. #ScotPfG

John Swinney, First Minister of Scotland
JS: “I’m the first to acknowledge that we face challenges in our health service as a consequence of the aftermath of COVID and the aftermath and the implications that’s had on the amount of time that people are having to wait.”
JS: “I’m sorry for the amount of time that people are having to wait for treatment. We are reducing the longest-waits’ and we’re making headway in that.”

.@StephenFlynnSNP: "On Monday the Prime Minister outlined what he considers to be extremist threats to our society.

In doing so, he actively compared North Korea, Iran and Russia with those people in Scotland who believe in independence." #PMQs Image
.@StephenFlynnSNP: "So can I ask him to rise once to the standards befitting his office and apologise for those puerile and pathetic remarks?" #PMQs Image
@StephenFlynnSNP .@StephenFlynnSNP: "Let's be clear, what the PM did was not just equate my colleagues and I with dangerous despots across the world.

He proactively compared almost half of the Scottish population with a war criminal like Putin. And he did so as their Prime Minister." #PMQs Image

📣 First Minister @HumzaYousaf at #FMQs: "You can judge a man by the company he keeps, and Douglas Ross's company is Boris Johnson, the Conservative Party of Liz Truss, Suella Braverman, Priti Patel, formerly Lee Anderson, Mark Menzies, Peter Bone, Chris Pincher..."
HY: "Andrew Bridgen, Frank Hester...and I can see Douglas Ross looking more and more embarrassed. That's the company he keeps. I'm very proud of John Swinney, Kate Forbes, and all the company I keep." #FMQs
HY: "Our anti-poverty measures, they are estimated to lift 100,000 children out of poverty this year - in very stark contrast to the Conservatives." #FMQs

First Minister @HumzaYousaf at #FMQs: "Douglas Ross says we all have a zero tolerance approach to hate crime. I'm not entirely convinced, when you take money from a racist misogynist and then refuse to give it back, that is a zero tolerance approach whatsoever."
HY: "Those stirring-up offences for racial hatred have existed since 1986. We are simply extending those offences to other marginalised groups." #FMQs
HY: "I think it's important for Douglas Ross to be honest, to tell people, who is it he thinks is not deserving of those protections, in the same way I've been protected because of my race since 1986?" #FMQs

.@MhairiBlack: "For two reasons I think we should scrap the Rwanda policy all together.

First of all, from a moral compass. I think it is a barbaric system, there is no such thing as an illegal human being - especially not those who are fleeing war and persecution." #bbcqt
.@MhairiBlack: "Even if you just look at it from a financial argument. The UK Gov'ts own figures show that the taxpayer will pay £169,000 per migrant - that's to send one person to Rwanda.

It's going to cost £1.8bn to deport all 11,000 people that have arrived this year." #bbcqt
@MhairiBlack .@MhairiBlack: "If the Tories are serious about spending money in good places, it would have been a good idea over the last decade not to keep implementing austerity, not to hand out COVID contracts out to their pals for PPE that wasn't fit." #bbcqt

Brexit Britain faces higher food prices, a lack of workers, a shrinking economy & a decline in living standards. Why is he happy to ignore those facts?" #PMQs Image
.@MhairiBlack: "The only thing more deluded than that defence of Brexit, is Labour's support for it.

Just today, the world's fourth largest car manufacturer said Brexit was 'a threat to our export business and the sustainability of our of UK manufacturing options'." #PMQs
.@MhairiBlack: "Even Nigel Farage can admit Brexit has failed, so Mr Speaker, why can't the Deputy Prime Minister?" #PMQs
