Ah, you ask what the deuce is the Anthropocene? Its fancy talk for denoting the current geological age in which human activity has been the dominant influence on climate and the environment.
Simply stated, You, yes You!! Me as well, are flubbing up things with the planet at an unsustainable rate; And, now!! Thanks to Humans, the planet can not keep up with its natural cleaning or recycling processes for keeping itself healthy.
Examples of this you ask, coo... Global warming and cooling (in some areas), habitat loss (poor old Bambi et al.), changes in the chemical composition of the atmosphere (You think it is hard to breath now??), oceans and soil impacts (hurricanes intensifying, soil erosion, etc.)
Mo examples?? Globally, fires have grown by 50% in the past 20 years. Temperatures continue to increase by 1-1.5 degrees. Over 30 million folks across the U.S. population currently lives in "at-risk" communities already exposed to unhealthy air quality.
You haven't felt it personally so it cannot be real, right? Or my personal favorite, *person looks outside, ah, its not raining today and weather seems nice, must be a hoax. Remember!! Climate is not Weather. Climate is a trend over 30 years!! Hence, we talking several 30's here
All doom and gloom? No, we can make a difference, we can join the side of the planet!! How? Conserve water, conserve energy, conserve resources. Stop wasting and not reusing products and goods. If it cannot be reused, reconsider purchasing it in the first place.

Now, we can all agree that this Covid-19 delta gamma gamma radiation rho mu or whatever variation that may be at a local store near you thing sucks. But for SCIENCE purposes, it has been a rather intriguing human planet experiment to say the least....
Why is it intriguing? Well... This is truly the first time in modern history that we get to "shut off" human impacts, like a light switch, on the planet: travel (vehicle, airplanes, boats, trucks, etc...), waste, movement, and whatever, just to look at what would happen.
