So let’s deal with the ‘opposing arguments’ to Butler, which far from being censored are all over the internet.

First. That section was removed because it was an embarrassment.

It built an entire edifice on sand - that ‘terfs’ are fascists because fascists protested outside Wi spa and the whole thing was a transphobic hoax.

Except it wasn’t.

What happens when you continually parrot ‘no debate’ and refuse to engage with your opponents? You give them little choice but to engage in the cruder forms of public and open resistance.

And yes. Along to those public displays of defiance will come other groups who enjoy chaos or who genuinely hate gay and trans people. But it’s a remarkably simplistic argument to say -

- because the Proud Boys protested at Wi Spa, then all women who claim sex is real and it matters are fascists. This is risible and clumsy.

I would engage with Butler’s argument if I could discern what it is, other than the reaction of a cult leader who sees her cult challenged. Smearing your opponents is not ‘argument’. It’s very disappointing to see with anyone with pretensions to credibility.
