I think non-autistic researchers who center the feelings of the researchers who are harming autistic people

over the feelings of autistic people and the huge potential harm that could be caused to all of us.

I get that there are autistic people who are "directly attacking" the researchers.

I get that as a researcher, all you're thinking about might be "they could come for me next!"

But these researchers have a huge amount of power and have done an excessive amount of harm already.

I'm not going to police autistic people in terms of how they critique #Spectrum10K because that's not my place or my job.

And these are the researchers who will nearly always get the funding, who will nearly always have the power.

We're not talking about people who listen.

This level of research, this study which will then create a consortium and an international database on autism genes,

is a completely other level than most autism researchers who are concerned about criticism.

And we have given SBC every opportunity to prove us wrong.

These aren't just "some" autism researchers. These are the "experts" - the top of the field.

And they are not autistic, and they have not listened to the autistic community. They have not communicated transparently with the autistic community, truly given every opportunity.

We know that no matter what SBC does, he will continue to be platformed by other organizations and continue to get funding for his research.

The only way to make change is to get other autism researchers in the field to speak up about this.

Please speak up.
