5 FREE Time Tracking Apps For Freelancers (and teams)

6 years ago when I started Freelancing I thought time tracking apps are evil. 😈

Now they are saving me hours by the end of the month when I'm doing my invoices.

A Thread 🧵👇
1️⃣ Klokki

@KlokkiHQ My personal favorite, it sits in my tray unnoticed. It's really easy to start/stop work sessions. If you work for multiple clients it's really easy to organize your different sessions in folders.

The only downside: Mac only. 🥶

2️⃣ Clockify

Clockify is a time tracker and timesheet app that lets you track work hours across projects. Pricing: free forever, unlimited users.
You can also use it as a team and track team activity, create invoices, and much more. My next best pick.

3️⃣ Toggl Track

In its free tier, you get access to all their apps (Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, Windows, web, and browser extensions) and access to all the core functionality - that's plenty for a time tracking app.

4️⃣ MyHours

Time tracked on projects and tasks can be easily turned into shareable reports for your clients or managers. Set hourly rates and generate invoices with ease.

5️⃣ TimeCamp

TimeCamp is a simple, yet feature-rich time tracking app dedicated either to freelancers or teams. It helps you gain insights into your projects and tasks ⏱

During my career, I looked at dozens of job applications from Junior developers. Some portfolios were soo good, I still remember them.

Today I'm giving you 6 tips on How to Stand Out with Your Job Application as an Aspiring Developer and make it to the interview!

Thread 🧵👇
1. Unique Project

I don't remember all the unique projects, but I do remember copies.
If there's a Pokedex in every repo, make a searchable list of SpaceX launches.

Here's a repo of free APIs: github.com/public-apis/pu…, add a bit of imagination and you already have my attention.
2. Version control (Git)

9/10 candidates will have a single commit in their GitHub repositories:

"initial commit"

If you put in the extra work and further tweaked a default app just give meaningful messages to your commits like:

"updated port"

"changed button to green"
