I’m 100% with flag burning being constitutionally protected free speech. The issue here is one of property vandalism.
Painting racist messages on my own property is protected free speech. Painting racist messages at a Black church is illegal vandalism. Ditto with flag burning.
Obviously, there would be consequences (loss of job, having Google searches linking my name to those actions) and a lot of legal free speech decrying my actions for painting such messages on my own property, but it would not be a criminal act the state could act on.
Since there are people on social media who have a hard time with hypotheticals and irony, I have absolutely no intention of doing any such thing with my property, nor do I agree at all with those kinds of messages.
The Constitution protects speech I don’t like and disagree with.
I’m very emotionally split on #Onlyfans banning pornographic content. As a man of faith, I do not partake in porn. As someone who grew up when free love was still a thing, it comes off as censorship.
I also don’t like a revenue stream for Latinas who need money being cut off.
I don’t like porn—it objectifies women.
I don’t like OnlyFans—it’s lonely men paying good money for pretend sexual “friendships” with beautiful women; porn is widely available for free—the hook is the fake connection.
Men should learn to seek real relationships with real women.
About seeking real relationships: Searching for dating advice on the Internet can lead lonely men in to some very destructive mysogonist rabbit holes: “Red Pill”, “Black Pill”, “Incels”, etc. It’s OK to want love; it’s dangerous to believe destructive lies about women.
We know the vaccines out there reduce the spread of Delta COVID-19. They do not eliminate spread; they reduce it. We know this because of simple math. /1
If the vaccine did not stop COVID spread at all, we would expect the number of new cases to be directly proportional to the number of unvaccinated people. That’s *not* what we’re seeing. I will give just two datapoints. /2
MA has about 28% unvaccinated, and 9.5 new cases per 100,000 population per day. FL has about 44% unvaccinated, and 75 cases per 100k population/day. So, getting vaccinated protects you and protects those you contact, not perfectly, but it does reduce spread. /3
@valhallapresets VVV presets can be handled by having the EQ parameters in a separate tweet. Here’s a nice tight snare preset (adjust size if it sounds metallic with a given snare) in the next two tweets.
@JonnSerrie@Alesis Excellent choice. Still reasonably priced (for a vintage analog poly), and one of the few non-Dave Smith big analog polys (8+ voices, 2+ VCOs per voice) around.
The only new non-Dave Smith options are the Korg Prologue and the Moog One ($$$). The DM12 doesn’t count: 1 DCO/voice.
@JonnSerrie@Alesis The Modal 008 and Futuresonus Parva are unobtainium. Behringer promises an OB-Xa and a Poly-600 clone, but nothing except the thin-sounding DM12 is available today. I presently use a Behringer 2600 mono for analog, Roland JD-Xi (same engine as Jupiter 80) w/ reverb for poly.
@JonnSerrie@Alesis “Poly-600”. I meant Prophet 600. @Behringer calls it the “Pro 800”. Since the Prophet 600 has a darker “space music” sound than other Dave Smith synths, Behringer’s clone should be good for making space music.
Not out yet; released delayed by chip shortage. I eagerly await it.
