Battleship (2012)

You can gather Qui-Gon Jinn, John Carter, Hogun & Captain Robert Daly of the USS Callister on a ship, it's still not my cup of β˜• But I saw it, I finished my mission.
But the ships have character. As often, even if the movie leaves me cold, the work upstream is nice.

The Last Jedi (2017): "T-wing", aka Resistance Bomber MG-100 StarFortress SF-17, art by James Clyne

Again: There is gravity in the ship, the bombs drop and pass through the shields, then follow their trajectory steadily through space.
Explaining just because I'm a little fed up of the same comments each time I show this ship. "it's SW, it's not hard scifi, it's inspired by WW2" is my favorite explanation 😏

However, this is an "art of" tweet as usual, about James Clyne πŸ™Œ

Ship thread incoming πŸ™ˆ
To clarify: in-universe, there is an electromagnetic projection system and the bombs are magnetically attracted. But even the basic premise, which we saw in the movie, should come as no surprise. It is on this basis that this ship was imagined in pre-production. It's a B-52.

Winchell is a space fiction legend, to whom we wish all the courage possible. His work is immense, and has inspired a lot of people around the world (and the galaxy).

If so, can you please tell or show how much he inspired you?
For my part, his work is a fantastic source that allows me (in particular) to answer people: no, space fiction is generally not realistic.
And how many stories I dreamed of, reading his articles.
And he inspired me something for 2022/3.

I send him my best wishes for recovery with the greatest sincerity, because of all the people I have met here, Winchell is one of the most beautiful. Not only is his work amazing, but he is himself on social media: kind and helpful.

The Matrix Resurrections (Dec 22)

Without doubt one of my favorite trailers of the year. Just give me some mysteries, some clues, some nice shots by directors of photography Daniele Massaccesi and John Toll, and Jefferson Airplane to keep me happy. ImageImageImageImage
And with all these clues, these next three months will make me happy. ImageImageImageImage
Give me more. ImageImageImageImage
