MHA S5 Episode 22: Sad Man's Parade
Now we have a well-directed episode
The simplistic backgrounds or bad art are lessened and we got more animation
What dominates the episode is Twice's voice acting
You could really feel his struggle all around up until he lets loose later
On the animation
I think CGI Doubles works here somewhat and it is not overused or bad
It was fine
This episode also has a more dynamic camera
Also the early part of the Re-Destro fight was fun to watch
The fact Shiggy and the rest were Doubles in the Tower was easy to track too
Some nice details here
So far, the anime depicts Stress quite well, especially as we see the dark marks envelop Re-Destro's body
Oh and I love how Geten maxed out his ice to take down all the Twices
And I am glad we hear Rampaging Evil more here
The OG theme for the League
Now for some plot points
So Trumpet's line is reminiscent of Syndrome's "When everyone's super, no one will be"
Which quite aligns with MHA's themes of how the terms have become categories that define Quirk usage, which Re-Destro talks more about with Shiggy in the Tower
Geten's pride in having gotten stronger also reveals how the Meta-Liberation Army's seemingly egalitarian goal of making Quirks free to use will lead to a return of the chaos that caused people to fear them
A master class will form and Geten would benefit from a predatory system
The way Shigaraki despises the Army's manipulation kinda adds to how the "liberated" are just part of a cult and not really free
What they intend is a system of dominance over a majority to create a class of better equipped, without acknowledging the hypocrisy of their ideology

Ymir Fritz - The Lost Girl of Humanity
The one who was never meant to be fully understood
The one who could only find herself when she finally moved forward
The one trapped in a matrix of slavery that sums up the nature of dehumanization in Attack on Titan
A devil, a slave, a god
It is sheer brilliance for Attack on Titan to have its monsters be giants
Norse myth speaks of Armin's sights similar to the Nine Realms
And well you can see why it was also brutally ingenious for Isayama to deconstruct the creation of those Realms
In the butchering of one girl
AoT's history is muddled in so much propaganda, nationalism and limited literacy barely anyone really knows how the story began
Owl says about how we make our gods or devils
Magath says the hero Helos, who saved Marley, was an empty shell
Ymir is the same
The shell of Midgard
Episode 21 of MHA Season 5
Was not that bad
Weighing the episode overall, I was pretty satisfied with the Toga content while noticing where Season 5 lacked
Impact
Some character art and bland backgrounds make some of the impact that the scene tried to display dull
Music good tho
By re-reading the chapters before the episode, I ound it was okay but I noticed some scenes' art looked good but the rest felt flat (scene 3 has more detailed background guy tho)
Everyone talked about the Shigaraki scene but I will say the scene distortion was a good effect
The first ten minutes or less were definitely not impressive
Minus the Meta-Liberation Army backstory, which was good, the start felt a lil boring plus the fight with the Deika citizens barely had any punch
The episode picks up much later but it still has issues
